The New Build

Yay, finally building a new pc to replace this aging P3...

Things going into the build:
-AthlonXP 2500
-Gigabyte 7N400pro2
-512mb PC3200 Geil ram (on order)
-leadtek gf4ti4200 (outa my current pc)
-lite-on 52x32x52x16x combo drive (outa current pc)
-120GB seagate sata hdd (pity i forgot to grab the power adapter for the sata drive)....

Your SATA drive does not have a regular Molex connector in addition to SATA power? I didn't know they came like that. Anyways, nice motherboard, if I wasn't such an Abit fan I would of probably went with that one.

Yep my sata drive has only the sata power, no molex... I'm about to head off in search for a pc shop open on sundays... wish me luck! hehe

be careful of those wood floors and the static electricity! after my parents put in the wood floors (pergo) for some reason there is a lot of static electricity now. fun to walk down the hall and pet the cats. zap!

Seagate SATA drives are the only native SATA drives, which is the reason why there aren't any molex power connectors. All other hard drive manufacturers have a PATA to SATA convertor built right into a hard drive.
