Engine Bay

Engine Bay

Hey all, yet another pic of my car... This time some of the parts that make this machine tick...

Stock engine puts out aprrox 62kw @ the wheels, i've dyno'd the car @ 65.5kw @ the wheels, but this was before the pod was fitted... From the difference in feeling i'd guess i'm hitting about 70kw @ the wheels now...

Eventually i'm gonna be doing an engine conversion to a 6A12 mivec, will be looking at about 100kw @ the wheels then...

Looks cool dude.

I only rated this an 8 because it's a 4 cylinder. Some people have 6 or 8 cylinders and they might be confused by looking at your engine.

that a K&N Ram Air Filter?

looks a lot like my engine, but id smoke ya

you can do a lot with a four banger, but a six just has that extra "umph" i love my maxima, looks like you love your car too!

lol @ out's comment...

Yep sure is a K&N

Once i do the engine conversion (to the 6A12) it'll be runnin a V6 mivec (for anyone that doesn't know, mivec is pretty much mitsubishi's version of VTEC). I was originally gonna turbo the stock motor, but after thinking about it, i think i will be doing the engine conversion, would probably get much the same kw's either way, but the 6A12 will have more headroom for future mods (hehe can always twin turbo it!)

Well, I give it a 10 because its a four cylinder, the Evolution's and STI's a four banger and they rape, not just beats, RAPES Mustangs and F-Bodies. For the ignorant masses that think a bigger number is better I have a Geforce FX 5900 Ultra 256 MB right hear along side a 2GHZ Willamete P4. BTW how much power is that in HP=horsepower? Whats your tourqe? Instead of the V6 MIVEC id wait and look into getting the 2.5 Liter 162 HP MIVEC motor Mitsu is gonna use in the Upcoming Lancer Ralliart, Turbo'd im sure it'll scare its share of EVO's and STI, and may weigh less then the V6, either way sweet ride, If the Ralliart recieves good reliability reviews, you might have another person on this board with a Lancer

how true that is. Hell a Evo can give a non-turbo porsche a run for it's money.

Not sure on the HP & Torque figures of my car @ the moment.

The newer mivec engine will be too expensive to get, where as its fairly easy to get reasonable priced FTO front cuts with the 2.0L V6 mivec.

If ya wanted to stick with the 4cyl, ya could get a 4G92 mivec, but the series 2 (the one that my car would need) are the same price as the V6 6A12 mivec. So yeh, i know which one i'll choose.
