Thunderbolt

Thunderbolt

First off, i have to give credit to the original modeler to the plane: Andy Smith. I was supplied the model and then given the opportunity to butcher it to my liking.. i must say i was to the point of ripping my eyes out of their sockets with a pair of tweezers on the fire and smoke (hypervoxels)

original rendered in 1024x768@32 on 9X AA

No photoshop touch up work at all... even though so much is needed.

whaddya think?

Looks great!
It looks like more of a compressed gas explosion than a liquid ignition which is very fitting for the scene.

Would it be possible to see the full image? If hosting is a problem for it, I'd be willing to do it for you.
Things like this are much more intense at the full image size.

hosting my images eh? that'd be a blessing, i refuse to open a tripod account (or such) and only be able to upload a fist full of good size images.

We need a better setting, really...

Who is shooting at the A-10, put a few AA guns there! Maybe a little camp, two more A-10's by the side of the main one, etc.

Nice work.

setting... lol

this was primarily a test on the explosion itself, the model was just a prop for the explosion. but as you have asked, i suppose i could give a little setting for it. give me some time though, so many other projects going im finally getting bogged down

Man, these things you do in photoshop are truly amazing. I wish I had your talent. Keep it up! I think you have some serious talent there!

heh, photoshop is weak this wasn't done in photoshop, this is a completely different program, photoshop dealing with 2D images with layers [sheets of transparent paper] but Lightwave deals with layers of 3D meshes or polygons, that create a scene, hence, what you see above.

THANKS!
