arghh.. I'll enjoy it when I find out why it just killed over on me.. the only thing that has changed in the 2 weeks it's been built is the ram.. I think it may have overheated.. as I was playing the demo of splinter cell.. going to try different video in the morning.. and see if it posts.. if not.. it is looking like the motherboard.. but I have my 1.2 cpu chips I can test the board with.. if I get a post.. at least I'll know something..

*sigh* right when I was happy with my set up.. it had to go die..

thanks guys.. I just hope I can be happy again.. =)

Maybe it detected spoilage on the USER bus and decided to terminate in order to avoid overheating

That case must be HUGE

nope not up again.. I think either the cpus.. or the motherboard died.. I just got home from work.. and I went to bed last night after that post.. so this is the first time I've had a chance to get to her.. I hope it is something simple.. the HHC-001 just weren't keeping the cpu cool.. and I had started UD.. so I was beginning to work the system.. good thing is.. if it is the cpus.. I got retail.. so those babies can go back and be replaced.. same with motherboard.. beI wont know what is wrong till I test it out..

I already tested the ram, from my 1.2 in the system.. and it didn't post.. going to install the ram in my 1.2 to make sure it is still good.. as they were pretty hot right after the system went off.. hell the heatsink was very hot to the touch.. not warm.. hot.. man this is the worse thing I could think to have happen to me at this moment.

as for final total.. it costed about 2,200 bucks.. that's with shipping.. may have been a little less.. my first dual costed 1,500.. so not bad considering.. I put more into this one..

bit of an update.. not only is displaying only 512 megs of ram.. it is also seeing only 1 cpu.. now under pc health.. it sees both.. and the temp of each.. 2mro night I'm going to test my 1.2 chips on the board and see if it sees 2 chips.. if it does.. I have a dead cpu.. but I'm starting to think that the motherboard has went bad.. as it isn't seeing all the ram.. so I think the motherboard went bad.. and took the videocard with it.. or the videocard went bad and took the motherboard with it.. eitherway.. I have to sort these things out.. and get them replaced.. btw thanks for the ear guys.. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have someone to vent to.. =)

Odds are very good there are several spelling mistakes in this post.

With that great of a machine and I don't know what I would do or be capable of doing if it died, but I would soon find out. I would probably go insane.
That's very odd that it would overheat like that, espeacially with such good HSF's. btw what case are you using and are you using and are you using AS2 or something similar for the cpu?

I think one of the cpus might be dead as well.. but wont know till I break it all apart again.. and drop my 1.2s in it.. that will let me knwo what is going on.. I think it all started with the cpus growing to hot.. and chain reacted from there.. one cpu dieing.. and taking the video card.. a piece of ram.. and the messing the mothboard up.. it makes no sense.. there isn't a better cooler on the market..

This chips is up to 62c now.. this is the hotest amd I've ever seen.. my old Tbird only ever went up to 50c..

btw thanks for the reviews on the Gigabyte.. I think I'm going to have to rma this board as well.. and I'll see if I can replace it with the gigabyte.. if not I'm looking at around 500+ more to get this system back up.. arghh.. y me.. I'm almost tempted to look into water cooling.. and get some of the non conducting liquid to run in it for this system.. once it's back in running order..

again thanks guys for the posts.. =)

I'm posting from my 1.2 dual.. with all 2 gigs of the ram working.. so the motherboard is crapped out on the new dual.. as it doesn't work with that one piece of ram.. but this one has no problems of doing the same..

I think the video card is still dead though.. as I tried it on another system.. going to update this bios on the Tyan.. and see if it will post.. if it will.. then I have a good dual to work from till I get my new dual running again.. that's good news to me.. nothing against amd.. I'm going to build a dual xeon system next time.. aka 1.5 years from now..

another update.. video card is dead.. I don't know about the 2 cpus.. I think since the motherboard is limping.. it might not be working right.. and thus the cpus are fine.. I hope.. now I have to see about rmaing the motherboard, and video card..

also great news.. my Tyan Thunder board finaly posts with a GF4 card yay! I ripped the 4400 out of my P4 to test.. thisis where it will stay now.. =) so I have my old work horse I wanted a year ago.. =) so I'm happy again til I get this other dual fixed..
