Index
Display Options
| Option |
Variable |
Description |
| Default
number of comments per page |
defaultposts |
For
each photo displayed, this value will determine how many comments
appear on each page. When the number of comments exceeds this value,
the user will be given a “page” reference to scroll through
comments. |
| Show
Most Recent Additions on Index page? |
mostrecent |
Called
“Features”, when set to YES this option will display the
most recently uploaded images on your index pages. The Feature box
will only display when there are enough images to full up at least
one full row. Recentcols and recentnum are used to determine how many
thumbnails appear in each row and how many thumbnails will be displayed. |
| Number
of columns for thumbnail pages |
thumbcols |
This
setting sets the number of columns to be used in gallery mode for
thumbnails. Users who have sidebars may want to use a small number
of columns whereas people wanting to display the most would want a
higher value. Recommended: 5 |
| Display
Members Gallery on the main index page? |
showmem |
The
Member Gallery is a default gallery for every PhotoPost installation.
Depending on your memformat value the Members Galleries either act
as an index to all the photos uploaded by users or as a “personal”
gallery for a user. Setting this to NO will cause the Members Gallery
to not be listed on the index page. |
| Require
users to be registered to view images? |
reqregister |
If you
want your users to be registered to view images, then set this value
to YES. Users will still see thumbnails, but will have to register
to see medium or large images. This is good for “closed”
board where you want to minimze bandwidth usage by non-members. |
| Do you
want Members Gallery to show all of a users photos? |
memformat |
There
are two formats of Members Galleries.
YES – this mode is similar to an index of
all of a users photos. Selecting a users member gallery will provide
a listing of all photos uploaded by that user.
NO – this mode treats the Members Gallery
as a “personal” gallery in which only photos that have
been explicitly uploaded here will be displayed.
|
| Display
headers during SlideShows? |
slidehead |
If you
want the slideshows to display your headers, select YES. A setting
of NO will cause just the images to be displayed. |
| Display
photo and diskspace stats on index page? |
stats |
On the
main index page are some statistics which show the number of photos,
comments, users, disk space and top posters. Setting this value to
NO will remove those stats from your index page. |
| Number
of columns for most recent additions section? |
recentcols |
When
a “Feature” is displayed on a page, this value is used
to determine how many thumbnails will be displayed in a row. When
enabled, a recentcols of 5 and a recentnum of 25 will result in 5
rows of 5 thumbnails. |
| Number
of photos to display in the most recent additions section? |
recentnum |
When
a “Feature” is displayed on a page, this value determines
how many thumbnails of each feature will be displayed. When enabled,
a recentcols of 5 and a recentnum of 25 will result in 5 rows of 5
thumbnails. |
| Show
post count and photo details for cats without thumbs? |
catdetails |
Categories
without thumbnails themselves do now have any posts or comments. Setting
this value to YES will force a “top level category” to
display the sum of all the subcats below it. A setting of NO will
cause the category to show no values (and is typically used as a “seperator”). |
| Show
recent photos in default location (bottom)? (if no, will display at
top |
recentdefault |
This
determines the location of the Most Recent Features. If set to NO
the Most Recent features will display at the top of the index. If
YES, then will display at the bottom of the index. |
| Show
last photo thumbnail in member galleries listing? |
membthumb |
The
Members Galleries page can include a thumbnail of the last photo uploaded.
If this is set to YES then a thumbnail will be displayed. If set to
NO, then no thumbnail will be displayed and just the user stats will
show. |
| PhotoPost
main table width, percent or pixels. |
tablewidth |
This
determines the width of your tables used by PhotoPost. This calue
can either be a fixed number or a percentage. |
| Depth
(number of levels) of categories to display. |
catdepth |
On the
Main Index page you can control how many “children” are
displayed. A value of 0 says to only display top level categories
and each increment will add one level of children to the list. |
| Display
new comments/photos indicator on index? |
displaynew |
For
registered users who are logged in, this will track when “new”
photos or comments are in a category since their last visit. A “light
arrow” will be illuminated to indicate that new photos/comments
have been posted since their last visit. |
| Display
and extract EXIF information from images? |
showexif |
Enabling
this option will cause PhotoPost to use the JHEAD executable (set
in your config-inc.php) to extract any EXIF information to be saved
and displayed for photos uploaded. For this to work properly you need
to have a properly installed JHEAD program which has the proper path
set in the config-inc.php |
| Do you
want to show the Members Gallery in List format? |
memblist |
There
are two formats to the Members Gallery:
YES – In a “list” format with
each user listed on a line.
NO – In a “gallery” format simply to a thumbnail
gallery
|
| Show

dispopular |
Determines
weather a “Most Popular” Feature will be displayed in
index pages. |
| Show
Random images on Index page? |
disrandom |
Determines
weather a “Random” Feature will be displayed in index
pages. |
Image
and Diskspace Options
| Option |
Variable |
Description |
| Default
max diskspace for each user in Kb |
maxspace |
This
is an overall value which is used for all usergroups. Individual usergroup
settings can be adjusted in the Admin Usergroups section; otherwise
if those values are set to 0, this value will be used. A value of
0 indicates there is no limit to the amount of space a user can consume
with uploads. |
| Default
maximum file upload size in kB |
uploadsize |
This
is the overall value that is used for all usergroups when determining
the maximum size of a file upload. You can change this for individual
user in the Admin Usergroups area; if a value of 0 is used in that
area, this value will be used. A value of 0 means that any size file
can be uploaded. |
| Thumbnail
image max width and height in pixels |
previewwidth |
This
is the size of your thumbnails that will be produced from an original.
Since all resizes are proportional, the larger sized variable (height
or width) will be resized to this value. Images that are smaller than
this value will not have their images resized, but a copy of the original
will be used. |
| Max
allowable image width in pixels |
maxwidth |
This
is the maximum width of an image that you will accept. If resizeorig
(below) is set, then the images that exceed this value will be downsized
to this value. If resizeorig is set to NO, then the user will be told
their photo exceeds our limits. |
| Max
allowable image height in pixels |
maxheight |
This
is the maximum height of an image that you will accept. If resizeorig
(below) is set, then the images that exceed this value will be downsized
to this value. If resizeorig is set to NO, then the user will be told
their photo exceeds our limits. |
| Trigger
medium graphic height and width |
biggraphic |
If you
want a “medium” sized image, then this is where you would
specify the size of the medium image. If either the height of width
exceeds this value, a “medium” image will be produced
from the original and saved. This can save bandwidth challenged users
from having to download large files unless they elect to see the fullsized
version. |
| Enable
watermarking of photos with overlay image? |
annotate |
If you
want to add a watermark to your images, then set this value to YES.
You can turn off watermarking by selecting NO. You will need to make
sure gravity and watermark are properly set. |
| If enabled,
position of overlay watermark on images. |
gravity |
If you
want a watermark placed in the image, you would select from this dropdown
list where you want the watermark to be placed. |
| If photo
upload width or height exceeds maximums, resize upload down to max
dimensions? |
resizeorig |
If an
image exceeds the maxwidth or maxheight variables (above), then you
can elect to have those images “downsized” to match the
relative value. This saves a user from having to resize their own
images for upload. |
| Full
server path to watermark overlay image. |
watermark |
This
is the full server path to your watermark image. We recommend using
PNG files with an alpha transparency as they seen to work best with
light or dark images.
For example: /sites/site5/photopost/images/photopost.png
|
| Save
and display medium and large images? |
bigsave |
If you
only want a gallery of thumbnails, then set this value to NO. A value
of YES says to save all images, but a value of NO says to only save
the thumbnails and nothing else. |
| Maximum
multimedia upload size in Kb |
mmuploadsize |
If you
want to allow multimedia uploads, then you need to specify the max
filename for these. This is a global setting and defaults to the PHP
size of 2MB. If you want to increase your size beyond 2MB you may
have to edit your PHP.INI file (and the uploadphotos.php where you
find 200000) to allow for larger files to be uploaded. |
| Allow
multimedia uploads? |
allowmedia |
This
is a YES or NO setting that determines if multimedia files can be
uploaded. Set to YES to allow multimedia uploads. |
Diskspace Options
