| ftp/flash uploading
Hello, for some reason now my flash uploading is not working. I created a user folder in the gallery directory, and when i try to upload it puts a number in the folder, and upload returns no images to display after clicking submit.. All folders are cmoded to 777, well the hosting service has read, write execute options and all are set.. in my files folder some numbers ad other numbers behind it and puts users pics in them too.. like this /files/1/2and6.. I have a test user and that user number in the files directory is different from the one that the flash upload creates in the user folder.. Am i doing anything wrong?

You should not have to create or put folders or touch anything backend. The program creates all applicable directories if permissions are correct.
does regular uploading work?

Well, it was working with the regular uploads, I went ahead and upgraded vbulliten from 3.8 to 4.03. when upgrade is finished and tries to log into the control panel i get two adv_gallery something templates error and then links to another error message saying something about not being able to write to cookie domain. I did a research and found a way of logging into the control panel by modifying the config.php file and adding this script, define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);
And then I upgrade to the latest version of vbgallery, I go into the galleries and the categories, messages info etc. all look broken up... I still have the backup database and files from the previous version installation.. I went back and forth a few times and tried some things but nothing seems to work

Did you run the upgrade script when after uploading all files from the 3.01 download.
You would have to place a link for us to see your site otherwise I am merely guessing by your remarks.

I did the upgrade option.. I'm going to go back again and restore the old version and this time reinstall vb abvanced, I uninstalled it before upgrading and I think the left over data still might be interfering with the new installation..I'll send you the link at the point i give up, if I haven't fixed it..

Okay not a problem. Our program should have nothing to do with vbadvanced if everything is done right so maybe some old data causing issues might do it.

ok, I tried the vb advanced reinstall and it was database errors throughout the upgrade, I reverted back to old version, and I completely got vb advanced out of the database and file system (Must not have uninstalled everything right, out of the database the first time), that was one of the errors, now im on the error page right after the attempt of logging into the admin control panel from the upgrade process. Im upgrading from vbulliten 3.8.4 to 4.03 and the version of vbgallery is 2.51 until I'm able to upgrade to 3.01
Shows at the top of the page:
Warning: fetch_template() calls should be replaced by the vB_Template class. Template name: adv_gallery_navbar_search in [path]/includes/functions.php on line 3957
Shows as vbulliten message
File: /home/content/49/8072249/html/rootdirectory/vintageceilingfans.com/membergalleries/includes/class_core.php
Line: 4495
and of course not able to log in the control panel

I know but 2.5 is installed with vbulliten 3.84, when i upgrade to vbulliten 4.0.3, vbgallery interferes with the upgrade, when I use the disable plugins script and disable the vbgallery plugin, i get no errors..
I've been upgrading the forum software first. unless if I'm able to upgrade vbgallery to 3.01 in vbulliten 3.84? or another way? or maybe disable vbgallery in 3.84 before upgrading the forum?

vbulletin 4 should automatically disable the plugin system as part of there upgrade.
1. upgrade your forum
2. upgrade your gallery
that is all there is to it here. The error you posted in post 7 is from having 2.5 vbgallery installed on a vb 4.x which is not right which is why I say you need to upgrade.

ok, I installed the vbulliten upgrade first and then the gallery, i had to disable products and plugins for the vbulliten to install correct.. Now Im not able to upload..
flash uploader says "File Too Big!
Regular upload returns to this page:
Not Found
The requested URL membergalleries showimage.php was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
It's looking for showimage.php in the directory under galleries. The show image is in the gallery directory
I have the gallery_config.php set to the url all the way to the forum dir (membergalleries) and all the settings to the right settings including server paths and url paths up to gallery, users, files etc..

You flash max upload is displayed if your getting a message the file is too big I beleive it is too big. As far as regular upload try this patch and try uploading as it sounds like your regular upload works you just have a baseurl issue. http://www.photopost.com/forum/1287933-post2.html |

You modify the fetch database plugin and add the line it says where it says. that fixes the url issue

If I am not mistaken the flash uploader is coded for the max to be the max filesize under edit filetypes.

Hum, the file im trying to upload is a jpeg, 581kb and the dimensions are 2592x1944, I set the files in the edit file types dimensions to 3000x3000 and the max size is 1.74mb for jpeg, jpg files which i think the server doesn't allow much more than that.. It still says file too big with flash uploader, and in the regular upload, it uploads the huge size without resizing the image...

This is what it says in the Admin Upload Info on the upload page for both flash and regular:
Execution Time:180 Seconds
Max Post Size: 60.00 MB
Max File Upload:200.00 MB
Memory Limit:128.00 MB
Server Settings: Modified
It doesn't say anything particular about max flash upload..
I just tried uploading a small pic, under 100k.. It uploads but when clicking submit, it goes to a page that says, no image to display..
I realized when I created the database, there is an option to allow direct access, when i created it, I didn't select yes for that option.. Files are being stored in the file system, so I don't know if that is an issue or not..
