well, it was the data base that was the issue, i called up my hosting service and they found a problem with the server that my database was on, so they switched me over to another server, the flash now uploads.. I had to go into the settings and switch the other formats to a higher setting..

exactly the flash does not know what file is being uploaded to set the max size yet so it has to take the lowest.

I guess I'll have to go in and disable all other formats so users can't upload files that take up alot of space like bmp files, I have the formats set to the default 2mb, due to the fact many people upload jpg,jpeg files up to that size.. I just don't want people uploading other formats up to 2mb, due to the fact they can't be resized or converted..

bmp is converted using Imagemagick

jpg,png and gif images are converted with either Imagemagick or GD2

any image that is an acceptible format that can be processed by an image processor when the image is over your thresholds will be compressed.
