vbGallery does not at this time support CK Editor.

Hi
We want to upgrade to vB4.1.4
I'm not fussed if the Gallery does not use CKeditor, as long as the gallery works.

So maybe a two step approach...

1. Gallery to work independently of CKeditor (even locking it to plain text edit mode)

2. Gallery to have full 4.1.4 CKeditor support

Thanks!

There will be no support for CK Editor until such time as we have had time to work on that and announce that we support it. Personally I would not upgrade since it is new and beta.

Well vbGallery will most definately not support any new editor at this time. You can upgrade but that could mean vbGallery would break or maybe not. vbGallery could work completely fine as long as you use the normal editor. We make no guarantees until such time we get to look at things.

It's not beta anymore... vB4.1.4 is gold.

well a few days ago it was beta I do not personally check out vbulletin everyday but thanks.

If I get a change to upgrade to 4.14 I will check out and see if vbGallery works with 4.14 but as I stated elsewhere recently there is a change it would work fine if you use the regular editor. It would most definately not support the ckeditor.

All good, I assume you will add CKeditor support in the next month or so?

I can not give a timeline on development. Right now PP8 is in development and we know how timelines are when a product is in development.

Well Internet Brands changed there policies on beta software for vbulletin with the new 4 series. We had like 3 and a half months to write support for all our products with vbulletin 4 as thats all the time we had access to the code before it went gold. Use to be developers had a long time access to the software before it ever became gold. Now we have the same short beta access vb customers do. The point being is we will support the new editor as soon as we can. We are a very small company and are in the middle of a development cycle on our other gallery product Pro. Once that wraps up we can continue with vbGallery.

I have it slated to setup a test site to look at 4.14 and 3.01 vbgallery. I would suspect it would work fine with vbulletin 4.14 except you would need to use the default editor not ckeditor. Once I can confirm things I will post here.

Hi Chuck, as you mentioned in another post the ckeditor is the default editor so we can expect it wont work at all.
It's very sad Luc isn't around anymore (seems to be), he did a great job.
If you read this Michael, I can't understand why you can't keep him, same happened before with Zach.

Well in vbGallery you can actually place comments and there are no visible errors however the editor is just a basic box even with the full controls enabled. In Pro everything appears to work fine. That is just my initial look. I am sure there will have to be changes but still official word is not to upgrade.

when we get time we will look at the new editor getting pp8 ready for a beta is taking most the time.

Zach was busy with family things as that is what I remember and he dropped off the map. Zachariah was actually part of our paid staff for awhile. Luciano I do not know what happened to him but I would assume he is busy with life. He just helped Michael out with the vbGallery 3. He was never part of our actual staff here.

yeah Some alterations will have to be looked into for all products but you can comment without errors.

1. In Pro everything works fine for the most part with one small line addition added for quick reply. What I would need to investigate there is the different between full comment and quick reply. In Pro the full comment editor works fine showing all options etc. Quick Reply on one site I have seen shows fine. On my site though the quick reply is just a plain box not the full editor.

2. In vbGallery both comments and quickreply show basic boxes not the advanced controls so we would need to see what would be needed to support those.
