| How do I change the Ownership of a Photo?
We are moving over large numbers of pictures from an old web server using different software to a new server running vBGallery. The people moving the photos over and uploading them are not necessarily the people who originally uploaded them to the old site. I know that when you upload as an admin you can change the uploaders name on that form and assign the photo to another member.
However, AFTER the photo has been uploaded I see no way to change its ownership. The EDIT form doesn't allow you to change that. How can I change who a photo belongs to???
TIA!

Can you re-upload them from backups on your own computer? That way you can assign them to any member you want.

Jim | I could download the photo, re-upload it and assign it to a different member and then delete the first instance that is improperly assigned but that man that's going to be a lot of work for several hundred photos.
It would be a LOT easier if the Edit form for administrators would show a field allowing you to change the ownership of the photo...

Any chance this little feature enhancement will make it into the next release?

Hello!
I got the same problem:
After importing from another gallery (smartors) a lot of the images (up to 90%) got a wrong picture-owner or nobody as owner ( http://www.landeinsiedlerkrebs-forum...p?i=14&catid=1).
Is perhaps anywhere posted the script-code for this feature or something like this to do that?
I tried this hack http://www.photopost.com/forum/showp...09&postcount=2 , but it doesn´t works By clicking "save" there will shown up only a white blank site...

The only way to change the ownership is in the database, make there a search for i.e. the image title and change the username in the table ppgal_images
An option to do this by a normal image edit would be great.

At "username" i changed the owner of the image. Now the username will be shown up, but the user-ID is still wrong.
Then i changed "userid" to the user-ID the user really have. Now the image and the thumb wonīt be shown up http://www.landeinsiedlerkrebs-forum...e.php?i=11&c=1
I donīt know why this is so and what is to do now, what is to change in the database to solve this problem |

well if it was that easy.. id would be done since long time..
what you did.. will only work if you switch safe mode on..
if the original userid is 2458 and the target userid is 1288, you would now (after what you did.. ) find the file in the directory gallery/files/2/4/5/8 and copy the thumbnail, the file and the original file to directory gallery/files/1/2/8/8 .. then the files will show up.... the hard thing is to make this work independently for safe-mode settings (all files in one directory)
