"Max width/height" very misleading

My gallery is setup in such as way that people can upload pictures of any size, but it will be resized for the standard view. However by clicking on the picture you can always get to the original, thus there is actually no size limit when uploading.

However, when people click upload and then "view allowed extensions" they are given the impression that there is a size limit on width/height, in my case of 600 x 600 which is obviosly not the case. However, it has in several cases mislead people to believe they could not upload any larger pictures, causing them to sometimes downsize the picture themselfs and sometimes abandon uploading altogether.

I suggest that whenever "save orginal files" is set to "yes" for a forum, that "view allowed extensions" will either not display max width/height or even better tell the user that there is no limit.

I strongly agree with this. Can we see about changing this?

I second that.. but i had the problem of a user wanting to upload a 8 MB pic and my server only allowing 4 in php upload settings..
so I would also suggest these figures being published for the user..

This problem still exists, causing many of my members to think they can't upload pictures of more than 600 x 600. I've added a message on the "ADV_GALLERY_UPLOAD_EXTENSIONS" template informing members of this error, but having to do that is not optimal. Any chance of a fix, please?

first I agree.
second what are the actual settinsg for that? I need that.

ie: how do I set up for:
- no limit for upload file and dimension size
- but is resized for standard view

been trying to do that but never sure what/where to set it at.
