Dear Photo Post Staff,
I'd like to make a suggestion to add two features to the
VB Gallery Program called "Folder and Path View" instead of just catagories that basically look like another Vbulletin forum that is capable of holding files.
This feature is used on Yahoo Groups when you use their "Files" and "Photos" sections. It looks like the folders you would find on an FTP server or something, or like the folders you have on a Windows computer.
The user should be able to switch between either view "Folder or Path) on the gallery page by clicking on a link or button, and not have to do this in their user control panel.
Also the admin or mod or any members who have privelages to create new catagories,albums,folders, or whatever it would be, that they have the ability to disable the upload privalages of each one they create. Please see the example below, each folder has its own permission as far as if you can upload files to it. I am aware that I can disable uploads to individual catagories already what Im asking for is better navigation in the catagory selection menu when uploading images, something that gives the user a better break down of the subcatagories are laid out
*KEY CODES*
(NU) NOT UPLOADABLE
(U) UPLOADABLE
Trains(NU) -> Engines(NU) -> EMD(NU) -> SD40's(U)
--------------------------------------->GP9's(U)
---------------------------------------> GP30's(U)
---------------------------> GE(NU) -> -7(U)
---------------------------------------> -8(U)
---------------------------------------> -9(U)
------------> Cabooses(NU) -> Baywindow(U)
-----------------------------> Coupula(U)
------------> Box Cars(NU) -> 40ft(U)
----------------------------> 50ft(U)
----------------------------> 65ft(U)
I think this would be a nice feature to have for both
VB Gallery as well as Photo Post Pro. Its definetly much nicer than the forum or thumbnail view currently in use in both programs in "MY" opinion.
Does anyone else here agree with me?
I have attached two snap shots to try and give you an idea of what it looks like graphically or at least how yahoo groups does it on their site.
