| my two cents
i still say it would be beneficial to us all to merge these two galleries to make one jam packed gallery...
at least in the more expensive version...
leave vbgallery as is and add all the extra things from that to pp...
running 4 vb forums with huge traffic, price is not a factor to me, stability, support and performance are.
i'm SO happy to see kevin onboard....YES!
congrats bro...
conqsoft has always been a punk...
he wants to remove his posts because he doesn't want the world to see what a jerk he really is...
don't offer that moron a job, he's worthless...
if you do, hire him, let him burn his bridge with vba, then fire his dumb ass.
Greenest Regards,
Rob Smith

Come on Guys all the stuff has died down and I think people are seeing everything is cool now after the initial shock of vBGallery ownership transfer.
So let's try to keep things calm. I have read enough ranting or bad blood threads so everybody try and play together nicely in the sand box.

I for one dont see the need to integrate the 2. PP has always supported more than VB (phpbb etc etc) while I think it will help us integrate VBG more and more into the VB forum.
The market is really wide open and I for one think there is plenty of room.

420, welcome (back) to PP.
For merging, I'd be against it. I think that at this point in time it makes sense to leave the products as seperate. Each has their own unique strengths & weaknesses.... besides, choice is good. |

yeah, but i just can't understand why it isn't also good to have one, with everything from both...not just features, i'm talking backbone...
i understand coding and stuff is different..
why not take the best coding of each one and build a super gallery?
(i am not a tech, so please forgive my lack of tech talk skills)
i do not see the logic of not doing so...
please help me to understand...
i'm not starting a revolution for this by all means, lol, but for shitts and giggles, i would like to hear some feedback as to why nobody backs me up on this...i'm confused.. |

The reason we can't really combine them at this stage is because PhotoPost supports 14 forums and has its own built-in user system if no forum is used; vBGallery relies so much on vBulletin that you can't run it without vB and so everyone else who uses it would be unable to use PhotoPost.

Nope. Just telling the authorities about the DDOS you just launched against my server.
And, I'm not, nor have I ever been, a customer service rep for anyone.

in response, to your response, michael...
"at this stage"
i like hearing that...
can't you just take the code from vba that applies to the integration with vb and merge it with pp?
i mean, i understand that it would take coders time to do this, but it is possible, right?

In regards to vBa, I am the only person associated with both vBa and PP and I sure as heck didn't send that PM.

i launched what?
dude, you are mental...
i don't even know what that means...
i'm telling you one thing though buddy...
i know you have access to my server through vba's support system..
if i find that you got into my server and did whatever you are talking about, yourself, you will be in jail for quite some time for serious federal crimes....
i suggest you drop this game at once...
this is not the right guy to play with.
i'm contacting my host right now to pull all log files and change all passwords.
unreal.

I didn't send it as a customer service rep. 420 is so stoned that he somehow thinks I work for vBadvanced and/or PhotoPost.
AGAIN. I AM NOT AND NEVER HAVE BEEN A CUSTOMER SERVICE REP FOR ANYONE. I DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO ANYTHING ABOUT YOUR SERVERS. (Other than the logs from the attack you launched.) DUDE, PUT THE JOINT DOWN.

420, ConqSoft is *not* a staff member at vBa. He has no access to any information at vBa other than the public forums like anybody else that visits there.

actually, yes, i am a bit stoned right now...
i am a bit stoned always...
it's the only thing that helps me deal with drama like this...
sorry for the confusion...
with vb.org, vb.com, vba, vb, vbthis, vbthat, vbetc..
i got confused...
i remember him trying to help me one time in a forum in regards to the gallery..
i automatically assumed he was support for vba...
sorry about the confusion...
changing passwords anyway...
brian and i got into big time as well...
after promising me the world, he drops me like a hot potatoe..
threatens to sue me and everything...
better to be safe than sorry.
if it weren't for kevin, i would have been screwed...
kevin rules.
