Is there a FAQ "package" for vBa Gallery?

Hi,

I'm sorry to ask, but I searched the forums and couldn't find this info.

vBulletin comes with a FAQ "package" for users, so that we don't have to write a long list of questions and answers to our members... just redirect them to the FAQ, and eventually need to reply one or another question.

Does someone have a similar "FAQ" for vBA Gallery?
If it is already available, I didn't want to reinvent the wheel...

There is not a FAQ that comes with the script and as far as I know nobody has posted one here.

Hey People,

I believe it would be nice for all of us if we could write a FAQ together, what do you think? (and it would be a great way to contribute to vBA Gallery)

I thought about some common questions to include in the FAQ, but I'm not sure if people really have those doubts.
Well, I imagine this could be an initial list for the FAQ.

- Can I search the gallery?
(A: explain the different ways to search the gallery)
- What is "My Stuff"? (maybe not)
- What is "My Favorites"?
- Can I be notified about new posts or replies?
(A: talk about subscriptions)
- Can I send a post (an image) to a friend?
(A: talk about e-Card here)
- What types of files can I send to the gallery?
(A: talk about how the user may find the allowed types and sizes)
- Can I edit my own posts?


Btw, what are the common questions you get from your own users?

Just to get started, I wrote some answers below.
But beware!!! English is *not* my native language!!!
So, the answers below are probably not the best way to answer those questions, and explain the gallery features... Btw, I apologize for any mistake in advance (english/feature description/...).

(Brian, this is just a sugestion, but I think it would be a good idea to have someone of your trust to properly collect, correct, and "compile" the FAQ, so you may eventually ship it together with the gallery)

Okay, here goes my humble contribution:

Can I search the gallery?
You can search for images based on username, word(s) in the image description, replies, or just in the subject, by date, and only in particular category.

To access the search feature, click on the "search" link below the nav bar at the top of the gallery pages. (Attention, the "search" link on the nav bar is for searching the forum, and not the gallery).

In addition, if you are browsing a category, you can search it clicking on the "Search This Category" link.

You can search any category that you have permission to search - you will not be allowed to search through private categories unless the administrator has given you the necessary security rights to do so.

What is "My Favorites"?
Whenever you find an image in the gallery that you like, you can add it to your list of favorites. Then, you can easily access and view your favorite images though the "My Stuff" menu.

In order to add an image to your list of favourites, click on the "Add to Favourites" link inside the "Image Tools" menu, located just above the image, at the right side.

Can I be notified about new posts or replies?
Yes. If you want to receive an email whenever a new image or reply is posted, you should subscribe to a category or to an individual image.

To subscribe for updates in a category, you should click in "Subscribe to This Category" in the "Category Tools" menu. In this case, you will receive an email whenever a new image is posted in this category.

To subscribe for updates in an image, you should click in "Receive Email Updates" in the "Image Tools" menu. In this case, you will receive an email whenever a new reply is posted to this image.

Can I send an image from the gallery to a friend?
You can send an e-Card to a friend. In this case, you write your message to your friend, and submit it through the gallery. Your friend will receive an email notifying that he/she has received an e-Card from you, and a link to where this e-Card can be viewed. The e-Card may be available for only a short period of time predefined by the administrator.

What types of files can I send to the gallery?
Each category in the gallery may have different settings for allowed types and sizes of images. In order to know what types of files you can upload, you should click in the link "View Allowed Extensions" in the upload page.
