Feature Request...

I'd love to see a little hack or whatever that allows an image upload to the user SIGNATURE area from the gallery (like this hack for imageshack:sig upload hack
...and I was thinking.....

why should I send user outside my forums when I have a uploadable gallery installed. Should can't my own forum gallery be hosting the signatures?

Some ppl do this, but most dont' think to. A simple hack like this to the galleries would be awesome and mean no need to go "outside" one's forums to host you sig.

Since my forum has a lot of graphic artists that take pride in thier tag making abilities, we actually have a gallery set up specifically for them to show off the tag and avatars they've made and we let our users just link to it from there. It works for the moment

Kseki, as PhoenixDown said, the easiest thing is to just create a category for sigs, etc, and let your users upload to that from within vBa Gallery. Then when they are creating their signatures they can use the "[img]" BB code tags like any other image. To save the user from having to figure out the file name there is then an option in vBa Gallery to display the actual BB code that should be used.

yah. I know about doing that. Its a good temp solution.

I guess I was more referring to the have a install box in the user cp (like that imageshack hack) that lets ppl upload directly from their user cp (edit signature area), and that would automatically upload to the signature section in the gallery.

then...for those that DONT know what its all about and are just looking at adding their signature edit page.....have something that clues them into the whole process (or faciliates and/or promotes doing so).

just a little box "upload your signature image here" in the user cp (that uploads to the gallery designated category) is all I really meant.
