no smilies in Gallery

I bought vbGallery license and everything is great overall.....
one problem though and two suggestion/question:

PROBLEM:
1. my smilies don't work/appear in anywhere in the Gallery for me. When you reply, all the similies are red "X"s.

any ideas how to fix this??

QUESTIONS:
1. is there a function/setting so that the thumnail display area is always the same size? the thumbnail itself may be a different size, (up to a max setting) the BOX displaying the thumbnail (and or text) is fixed. any text that runs long would be truncated. You can only see the full text if you actually go to he full image page.

I would love it if all the boxes where the same size rather than all different depending on the size of the image and amount of text. Its so much cleaner that way.

2.is there any plugin/tool that automatically reduces an uploaded image size to fit the admin set limit?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

They will probably tell you to update your image paths. If this doesn't work (it didn't for us ) then just copy the necessary images at the location the program tries to find them
That's what we did...
(We have 3.0.7 btw, not 3.5 )

Your images should have been updated by the install script. You can try going to the vbagallery_install.php file in your browser and select the option to update your image paths. If the script isn't able to determine the correct path for you though you will need to edit each of your smilies and change the URL to the full URL to each one.

thanks that did it. seems when I add new smilies it doesn't automatically add the correct path. (leaves out the /forums/ for some reason). oh well.

thanks!

Re: no smilies in Gallery

ok spoke too soon........
weirdness.

I updated all the links...... then it worked for a sec...... then didn't.
so I went BACK into the vbagallery_install.php to check.......and all the links I updated were GONE!! (didn't save ).

I swear for a sec I see them there and then see them erase. :/

Anyway, I tested and updated them again and yup.......
soon as I finish then go back to check again.... the full path links I just updated are GONE (back the original path with no "/forums").

...er... uh........ideas?

When you ran the script to update the images, did you make sure that the checkbox in the 'Update' column was checked for those that you modified?

(pleas note I usually do my updates at the weee hours of the night. heh).

btw:

REQ: a "check all/uncheck all" button for the update checkboxes in the install. I had a ton of smilies and had to click like 98798723 of those boxes. one "check all button" would be very appreciated.

Zach's been asking me to add this for a little while now as well, but I keep forgetting. Though this isn't really a bug, I'm going to go ahead and move this to the bugs forum so I'll see it when it comes time for another update.
