Suggestion: Commercial element to Gallery

Hi Brian

I was wondering about how to add a commercial element to your exellent gallery app... maybe this can already be achieved with the product as-is, so I'll explain what I am thinking about.

I have several members on my forum who are photographers, some amateur hobbyists, and some professional photographers who are also active musicians and have perhaps posted on my forum with a view to getting some business fro it... which is 100% fine by the way.

Now then - is there a way with the gallery app that I could have a seperate area for members who wish to sell their images - so that all images posted in those catehories have a user selectable watermark running through them and so they wouldn't be worth copying and pasting etc... This way, I could have a general area where I and others could post pics they just want others to see, and another area where we could manage commercially available photographs.

Hope I have articulated myself accurately... any ideas?

There's not currently an option to have different watermarks per category. This *may* be available in RC3 though.

John: I have been playing with a variant of this, different watermarks per user, which I believe could be easily adaptable to category. I can post my code as soon as it's a bit more solid if you want.

Brian: I hate ETA questions but any idea when RC3 will be out? It took 5 days from RC to RC2 =)

Unless any major problems are found, it won't be that soon. I've got over 30 new features/options on my to-do list that I'd like to add in RC3, and have only had time to complete a few of them so far.

I would also like to see watermarks only for certain usergroups. I would like to have my "supporting members" be able to view photos without watermarks.
