Slideshow by user group

Slideshows are a bandwidth drain.
I'm just going to take out the link.

... unless I missed a place in the admincp where they can be shut off?

They could only be available to a paid member group. When I figure out how to read/write gallery usergroup permissions...

Cheers

Re: Slideshow by user group

sometimes a simple temple edit with a permissive will work .

i wanted my unreg to se the thumbs/posts ect but when you turned off cant' view images they could not see them .

at TAZ
found permissives i could understand and made one that would work:

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
so people in usergroup 1,3,4 only see thumbs and posts now, even though view images are turned on ..

for you paid members and the slide show another one that could be used used: ( i would use )
Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
i havent looked at the templet, maby an <else /> is need also. i may look into this at a later date after the rcs'

am not very good with permissives but have found a few and keeping them simple and as few as possable they can solve a lot of problems, make what you want happen with out recoding, loosing featuers ect .

vBaGallery (well all of the line) is great, not bloated like a few of the other programs i used - and with the vB permissives and simple use can stay this way - i hope

Re: Slideshow by user group

Useful information, thank you. Cool link too (TAZ).

Something I try to keep in mind: your board can have tons of extras for members, but you have to show those features to the non-subscribers; not just implement them for the members. Impulse items. Carrots on sticks.

With your info, I can construct different links for the high-end values, going to the sales pitch page. And not worry about code hacking. Perfect.
