importing old data from SMF to vBulletin 3.7.3

We're converting from an SMF board to a vb 3.7.3 board. I've installed PhotoPost 2.4.3 into a new folder for my new forum that we're trying to get released. The old forum and gallery are in my "forum" subdirectory. My new forum and gallery are to be in the "forums" folder. Once the new forum is up, the old forum will be blown away.

Anyway, the old forum and gallery both use the same database. The new forum has it's own DB. However, my old install of the gallery has tables in the old forums DB, which I don't want to lose. I didn't see a way upon installing to specify a previous photopost database so it can import the info.

Is there a way to do this import so I don't have to frustrate my users by getting them to recereate their galleries?

Thanks!

You would need to copy those tables to your other database so they exist in the present database and do an install to correct links etc. You will also need to copy the files folders to the new install

Thanks Chuck. I can't find any easy way to do the copy of the tables over in mysql. I exported the DB and was gonna import it into a new one but mysql has a limit of 2048kb and mine is substantially larger. Is there a way around that?

We also just bought reviewpost so I'm installing it now as well.

Thanks!
Buster

You would need to do some data at a time if your only way is using phpmyadmin.

Your host could restore it via the ssh on the server if you ask I am sure

What does "do some data at a time" mean? I'm using mysql through godaddy.

Godaddy stinks about restores. If you want restores done, you have to pay them an hourly rate which is ridiculous. The other host I normally use does restores free of charge or you can do them on your own through the CP. This is my one and only godaddy hosted site and it will remain that way.

You could try doing it a table at a time. You would need to view the sql file and do it piecemeal or get godaddy to do it

You know the funny thing here is to do the sql file via ssh command line would take 2 mins to import from somewhere on your server if you upload it there and they charge you hours of work for something that takes 2 mins
