| Import problems - sorting images
I may be missing something, but so far can't figure this out...
Got the VBgallery installed and working.
Ran the import script to move photos from Albums to gallery.
Here's what I got:
Member Categories
cat name1 (user one subcat)
cat name2 (user two subcat)
cat name3 (user three subcat)
(goes on and on - a whole long page of subcats, many with exactly the same names such as "Me" and "Home")
If I click on Member Categories I get the alphabetical listing of members with photos
user one
user two
user three
Click on user one and I get sub categories: user one's images
cat name1 (user one subcat) - (this is where the images have been imported to -- this was the album name from vbulletin albums)
images in category: user one's images
this is blank - no images here
I would have thought that the images would get dumped into the second location and not the first - it sure would be more organized that way.

Feel free to post an actual link to your gallery so we can respond. How images are imported depends on how vb albums where setup. Basically the actual albums should simply be copied over in whole to the vbGallery.

Did you alter the script at all http://www.photopost.com/forum/1247101-post1.html
The albums should only appear under your members category to my knowledge.

Okay but what does that line say in your import script about the parent?
IMPORTANT ASSUMPTION!
There is one assumption about this import script - that your have the default Member's Categories still setup. This is a catuserid of "3" - in the importalbums.php script, we use this explicitly. If you want to put these albums into a different Member's Categories, you will need to modify the script accordingly:

here's the line from my script: Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
Member's Categories was not changed:
Edit Category: Member's Categories (id: 3)

Not sure if it is related or not, but if you look at most of these albums and try to click on "previous" or "next" the following error message appears: No Image specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator |

You can set the level of children to display on the index. You had yours set to a depth of 2 so members galleries and its children which are all the albums imported displayed. I set it to 1 |

That sort of helps, but then when I have a section (see the new Moscow Photos section) the cats below don't show...
I am guessing there is no way that all those personal albums could have been imported differently? It would have been great if the names had been the usernames and not the album names, or if all images for each member were dumped into the default category for that member.

well if we imported albums without importing the albums I think customers would be upset. Yes it appears to me your looking for something to display differently then it is suppose to. Moscow Photo Gallery
its all about how you set things up you set it to not act as a category
You can say DO NOT ACT AS A CATEGORY HOWEVER you will need to set the catdepth to 2 not 1 and then of course children will appear.

Here's what I managed to sort out...
Via admincp went into each of the member's categories in question and copied the member's name to the beginning of the title. Now instead of 20 "Me" categories I have "Alice - Me", "Bob - Me", etc.. I set the depth to 3 levels and created a new section called Member's Photos and put all of those cats there. Looks a lot cleaner now :-)
Still have a problem with the "previous" and "next" links going to an error message though when browsing in the albums...
