Import Failure Due to Thumbnail Creation I've fought this most of the day and I can not figure it out. I'm running the importalbums PHP script. It brings in the pictures just fine but fails to make the thumbnails. It says to check permissions but there's nothing wrong. Everything there is 777. The files are created with 644 (just like a normal upload into the gallery by a user) and it's not an issue. Seen below, you can see the file is created fine yet the thumbnail fails. it 0kb in size. On the gallery side, if you click the thumbnails (which are a red x) they do show you the proper fullsize picture. This is strictly failing on creating the thumbnails. Code: Content visible to verified customers only.As part of my troubleshooting process, I have run the import and left the failed thumbs in place. I think chmod'd them to 777 and ran the import again (this is fine, the same GUID is chosen each time so you wont get dupes). This fails too.. Currently I'm all backed out and awaiting an idea or solution. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm really ready to ween the users off the vbulletin profile albums. thanks! |
Well if you go to vbgallery admin and choose to recreate thumbnails under vbgallery maintenance does this help? Apparently the import script is having an issue with thumbnails but as long as the main pictures are there you should be able to have vbgallery regenerate thumbnails |
that fails as well. I forgot to mention that I did that also. I left the thumbs place, chmod to 777 then tried to generate thumbs. The generate thumbnails process just kinda stop processing about half way thru. No errors are reported it just stops at a single filename. Never seems to be the same one though. I'd have to run this a few time to see if it was. |
well thats just plan strange. Is the server path correct? If safe mode is on under vbgallery maintenance have you tried setting the safe mode thing to on? |
Yes, sir. The server path is correct. I failed to mention that i did check during the troubleshooting process. I did see safe mode which is currently off. I contemplated turning that on but was warned that i should only do so with a new gallery or no images, both of which i have not. If i try, will tar'ing the gallery dir be enough to revert should something happen? i will backup the db again to be safe. |
You can send ftp info and url admin login through the contact us link and let me have a peek before you do anything |
Login information sent. |
