vBGallery to PhotoPost Pro - maybe - maybe not.

This was posted in the Pro section, but no one responded. It's just a heads up to be aware of any differences in file structure between vBG and Pro if these might be of concern to you...

I purchased the recent upgrade from Gallery to PPPro and I've been carefully watching the Pro bug report threads before making any major moves toward changing.

What is the file structure of PPPro? Our vBGallery photos reside in a subdirectory named /home/myusername/public_html/gallery/files .

The underlying tree structure is based on a user's user number so for example, all photos and thumbnails of user #7445 are in this folder: /home/myusername/public_html/gallery/files/7/4/4/5

Therefore all of that user's gallery photos are referenced as:
http : //www.mydomainname/gallery/files/7/4/4/5/hisphoto.jpg
(spaces inserted to keep this from linking and show it as a complete URL here)

My files directory has an .htaccess file set up to prevent outside theft of bandwidth from all subfolders.

Here's the kicker! Does PhotoPost Pro use this same file structure? Does the PhotoPostGallery to PhotoPostPro importer retain this file structure? If not, I would probably have thousands of dead hotlinks from my forums to the user's original gallery photos that appear in our vBulletin threads with the dreaded RED X instead of their photo.

That would make changing from vBG to Pro a non-starter and maybe would render me locked into vBGallery for a long time. (A really strong incentive to stick with vBGallery!)

from what I can tell, it's a different file structure, but you don't have to turn off your old VB gallery...keep it running and just prevent it from receiving any new uploads - which will now go into the PP gallery.

Just wondering.. Is it possible to import vbGallery into photopost pro?

Can't seem to find any info except to go from photopost pro to vbGallery.
