| Photopost Pro to vBGallery
Hello,
I am reworking this script. I have tested it in the field and had a few snags with original images and categories.
It will not touch your PRO install, only import and copy into an empty vBGallery.
- thumbs (ok)
- med (ok)
- originals (ok and not)
- comments (ok)
- categories (ok and not)
Originals do copy over but seem to swap @ some random interval the HxW values and stretch images. (I'll look more in the code)
Categories seem to copy over great except for "member galleries".
One category (owned) was made for each user that uploaded to the "member galleries" empty of images.
vBGallery handles member galleries a bit different by dumping images into 1 category and a choice per category to display as member galleries or not. All of the images were copied over but left a mess of empty personal categories that I removed later.
I'll keep you updated on more testing.
==================================================
How to use this script:
1). Back up your images and PhotoPost database.
2). Download the file below and open it with a text editor. You will see a place where it is necessary to set the path to three different places (your PhotoPost installation, your forums, and your vBGallery files directory). Change the paths accordingly.
3). Upload the file to your root directory, go to the file in your browser, and follow the instructions there.
4). Remove the file from your server once it has finished.
5). Enjoy.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks for the help and testing.

Is there anyway to move pictures from a members gallery folder in vbgallery to a different folder? Or a mass move option?
Most of the pictures on my site are from members galleries, and it would take forever to move each picture by itself to a new proper category. Thanks!
Edit: I just found this option in the admincp window! Thanks!

| Any updates to this ?
Before I attempt to import, might there be updated version of the import script coming soon to address the bugs listed ?

Are you sure you have the proper database setup for vbgallery? Looks like to import your photopost stuff to the same database as photopost and not that of vbulletin where your vbgallery tables would exist.

yea, was using 2 different databases. photopost is in 1 database vb and vbgalley was in the other one.
Solved that issue,
now what's the way to get it to complete the script.
get's to around page 42 of 134 pages and stops
setting it at 50 per page did not work
setting it to 10 per page, did not work either
again thanks!

I got my issue figured out. It was something to do with PHP on the server. You can delete this post if you would like.

Hi! I'm using vBulletin 3.7 Beta 4. I'm getting this error when I run the script: Quote: |
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare construct_forum_list() (previously declared in /***/***/***/global.php(384) : eval()'d code:461) in /***/***/***/global.php(384) : eval()'d code on line 461
| Any suggestions? Thanks! |

I converted a site from pbpBB to vBulletin. After that conversion I converted PhotoPost Pro to vBGallery. Now the photos are showing up as posted by the wrong user because the IDs are linked to the old phpBB User ID and not the new ID. How can I fix this so the photos are linked to the members that uploaded them?
Jerry at vBulletin told me you all have a script for this?
Thanks,
Andy

I guess in a worst case scenario I can just convert back to PP Pro and then back to vBGallery. It would be great if I could use the script for vBGallery directly though. I hope Zachariah has some good news and I won't have to go through all those steps!

Yeah you issue really has nothing to do with our software in any way. I would suspect your going to have to go through the steps fix it with the script I made for photopost pro and then convert to vbgallery.

Can you point me to the script for PhotoPost?
Do you think I can convert from vBGallery to PhotoPost, run the script and then convert back to vBGallery?
Could I pay you (or Zachariah) to help edit the script for vBgallery? time is money and you deserve to be compensated.

You can ask Zachariah if he has time or wishes to make a script similiar for vbGallery but here is the link to the one for Photopost http://www.photopost.com/forum/showp...65&postcount=1
You can theoretically import vbgallery to Photopost run the script and then reimport back to vbgallery sure.

mysql server has gone away means your mysql on the server has shut down not specifically an error with the script but the server.

in the import_photopost // This will limit the number of items per page that is imported
$per_page = '100';
It worked althou on my forumhome its only showing
Categories: 4, Images: 1, Posts: 1, Total Views: 8, Disk Space: 26.0 KB
I have far more than that on, do I need to update counters or similiar
EDIT: Sorted, thanks for this import
