Smartors Import Script

******ADMIN NOTES!!!! - Post 10 Sep 2006

This thread is an old imported thread from the former VB Advanced Gallery which as you now know as PP VBgallery. If you chose to use these scripts you do so with out any warranty from this site. Please try them at your own risk.

******End

This script will import the images from your Smartors Photo Album installation and convert them for use with vBadvanced Gallery.

How to use this script:
1). Back up your images database.
2). Download the file below and open it with a text editor. You will see a place where it is necessary to set the path to three different places (your Smartors installation, your forums, and your vBa Gallery files directory). Change the paths accordingly.
3). Upload the file to your root directory, go to the file in your browser, and follow the instructions there.
4). Remove the file from your server once it has finished.
5). Enjoy vBadvanced Gallery.

Please note that at this time these import scripts have only been tested on a few installations. If you experience any problems please post here and we will be happy to help and make sure you get your files imported properly.

Try asking your host to turn the open_basedir restriction off.

Re: Smartors Import Script

Sorry about that... Looks like I had another path setting below the first three that I forgot to move. If you'll look a little further down the file for $phpbb_root_path and set that to the path to your PHPBB installation then it should work.

Re: Smartors Import Script

Where do I get this import script? I need it, that is why I purchased the gallery module. If I am being dense, I apologize.

Weird... Not sure if I accidentally removed the attachment when I was editing the post or what. I've just added it back though.

Re: Smartors Import Script

question on this: it says in the first post that this script imports the images from smartor's. Will this make copies of the graphics/photos files and place them in the vbGallery folder? Or will this just reference those graphics/photos and leave them in our smartor album directory?

Basically, I'm HOPING that it will make copies and move everything over so I can completely dump/uninstall phpBB, and all its related directories

which root directory? of the webserver, of the forum, of the main website, or of the gallery?

EDIT: ok it's not the main website. I can't get to it if its in the root of the webserver. So that leaves the gallery or the forum....

EDIT 2: Ok so I'm getting a blank white screen when I run this file no matter where I upload it to. I've checked and rechecked the paths, it all looks right to me...

I'm receiving this same error because I have no weblogs_common.php file in my phpbb install. What file or function are you trying to call, Brian?
