Red X's and random images

I notice on my forum mainpage, that there are thumbnails of photos from the gallerie. Where is the option to turn this on and off, and... is there a way to make it show that last photos posted, or is it always random?

And, in IE6, after a couple of refreshes, I get red X's on the the forum mainpage. I don't have issues in Firefox, just IE

I don't have any problems once I go into the actual gallery and if I copy the properties of the red X photo, I can paste those into IE and it will show the thumbnail.

Please advise.

anybody? Oh, I figured out how to set the mainpage images to random or static (in the addon area).

Still having the same issues with the red X's however.

In addition, I discovered another issue around category permissions.

I am noticing that whenever a member creates a new category, that the permissions are set so that no one else can see the images or the category.

I have to go into the AdminCP and under "User Options" allow viewing. Is there a way to change the default?

another odd thing...I notice it in Firefox, but when I click on the main forum thumbnails, it always takes me to a login page. Although when I go to the gallery, I am logged in and I can view them fine.
