Better selection of products

I would like to sort the products in a more selective way like PriceRunner works.

I would also like to have a predefined list of manufacturer and year model that users can choose from when posting a new product. I know this can be done on a category basis but I would like this to global so I dont have to edit the list on several places etc.

Can this be done or is too advanced demands on a standard product like RP?
