Category Cache not updating

The Swollen Cranium

I have already sent an admin pass via the contact us link.

Vb 3.8.2 ... VBgallery 2.5

1. I create a new category via the "my stuff" drop down.

2, Category is created.

3. I navigate back to the gallery index via the home link.

4. ALL categories are missing.

5. I go to Admincp and use the 'Update cache" in the gallerycp.

6. All former and the new category are NOW visible.

I have to MANUALLY update the cache each and every time.

Obviously this is NOT the preferred method.

I search the forums and have seen this mentioned in several other threads, NONE of the fixes mentioned before cure my issues.

Someone from here has already used the info I sent via 'contact us' to verify this error because when I checked my forum I saw that they logged in and all my gallery cats were gone again.

So .. what do I do now?

Thanks !

Do you have any hacks installed on your site?

I just tested with a clean vbgallery beta and do not see this action

Reeftalk vBGallery

Of course I have hacks .. who runs a sterile Vbulletin anyway?

So my options are ;

a. Don't use any Photopost product and toss away the $90 I paid.

b. Disable all my hacks to get it to run.

Also, I'm not the only one here who has had this issue, I've searched and have seen it mentioned before.

You must disable your hacks and then enable them one by one to find the culprit. You then uninstall that hack or contact that author to get a compatible hack that does not break vbgallery. vbulletin would tell you the same thing if you tried to report an issue with vbulletin and it was a hack issue with hacks you have.

We integrate and work fine with vbulletin. vbulletin and vbGallery are full featured commercial applications. They are supported and advertised to work as we claim. They both make no claims to work with hacks. In fact when you have hacks you void any support from vbulletin or any other commercial application that has product support.

When you go to vBulletin for support on their product, they will tell you the same thing. You have to start with a clean product where we know it works and then go from there. Obviously we can't debug or support other people's products we know nothing about.

Yeah, ok guy I understood this just fine when Chuck said it.

I'll follow his advice, no need to be redundant.
