| Member Gallery Sub-Cat Depth
A great feature would be to separate the Member Gallery depth control from the rest of the gallery since it acts differently than any other type of category being able to set it's index independently of others would be very helpful.
Is there some template code I can use in a conditional to not display the subs? Thanks

You can set your catdepth to 0 if you only want to display a catdepth of one level meaning only the top level categories will show in the vbgallery settings in vb admin panel

Yeah I know that Chuck. Stampin' Addicts Gallery
I want it to display like this, except under Member Galleries at the bottom, I don't want to see the user created categories. Maybe I wasn't clear in my explanation. :doh!

I show catdepth is shown at 1 on that site.
It is simply a matter of defining your top level categories the ones that do not contain images and then assigning subcategories to those top level categories.
There is not anything special about that site.

ok well I'm sorry but vbGallery doesn't work that way. Setting the index category depth to 0 removes everything from the main gallery page. Setting it to 1 shows only the top level categories (ie: no parent, whether it has images or not doesn't make a difference, same result). Changing the category bit depth appears to have no affect that I can see.
Regardless, the layout is like I want it, what I don't is the member created categories to display on the index. The only way I can figure this is to create a new Member Galleries category at the top level without images and move the Member Galleries with images in there, but then that seem sort of redundant.
Maybe I'm just not seeing it but I've been playing with it for an hour now and they either all go away or they're all there.

The site your referencing is vbgallery so it indeed does work this way.
Your not showing your site so hard for us to give advise.

So what don't you understand about what I'm saying and I posted a link to the site in post #3 and Im telling you, if I set the index category depth to 0, it doesn't display anything. We can argue that point all day but I'm telling you what it's doing.
What plugin and what template controls the display of the member created categories??? i can fix it myself from there.

what I am saying is very simple. You have not posted a link to your site so we have no idea how to respond to you.
I explained very simply that the site your referencing had what it looks like catdepth set to 1 and had clearly defined top level categories which do not contain images set up which other categories are then made subcats of those.
Its nothing fancy in there settings in any manner. without seeing your site I really dont know how to respond any further than that. That site has 6 top level categories setup ( cats that dont contain images ) and then all other categories have been assigned as subcats to those various top level categories.

| Main Index - Stampin Addicts Gallery
I posted that link in post #3 Chuck, that is my site not some site I was referencing. Regardless, I converted it back to PP Pro, which works exactly like you've described above.
Anyway thanks for trying to help with this one though.

The link you posted is not your site which is what I said. Thats site is what you want yours to look like and they indeed are running vbgallery so it works exactly like you want which is what it shows. I have explained a few times how they do this. its not really anything hiding in settings at all. Its only defining 6 top level cats and assigning subcats to those.
