First a little bug (3.8 / 2.4.3): extra statistics should work independently of 'Show stats". E.g. if I would like to solely show the extra statistics (yes) but not the 'Show stats' (no) then in this is not possible. Try to push the drop down statistics link...?!

1) Arrange subcategories into columns. It is annoying and destroys the userfriendliness of the gallery that you cannot show the subcategories in a more condensed way. It really makes a huge difference if you have many categories....! It is possible in many programs - but not with vbgallery

2) RSS for comments or something similar. It is a catastrophy that this is lacking.

3) Let parent categories inherit photos of subcategories - so the photos will be watchable both places.... This would also make an enormous difference....

I just checked on a clean install... and it works as designed..
Extra statistics work independently!!! the stats block on Gallery Home cannot be turned off.. (there is no setting and you would need a template edit)

there are 2 stats settings:

Enable ForumHome
Turn on this setting to display gallery statistics on the forumhome inside the "What's Going On?" block. Yes No


Extra Statistics
On (yes) / Off (no) Yes No

if extra statistics is OFF(no), you cannot click the the drop down statistics link .. it is not there. If you try to enter the link manually you come to a page that says: Gallery statistics are closed

if you set this to yes.. you come to the statistics pages.. that works!!!!

Also on GALLERY homepage.. the link to statistics (in the title of the stats block is turned on and off) This stats block on GALLERY homepage, cannot be turned off!!.

the other setting turns the stats block on the FORUMS index - Not in the gallery!!!!. Forums: in the whats going on section.. this works fine with 3.8. It has NOTHING to do with the mini stats block on the Gallery homepage!..

But maybe i misunderstood something.
