that's why i'm testing it and should be able to do it myself.
pleas provide me with an old gold version which certainly is upgradeble, like 1.0.1 vb 3.5
it's no problem to install a previous version of mysql on my testserver, so that would take that out of the equation
There is no way we would be able to provide you with old versions. Any versions we have are in the download area. The current downloaded code 3.01 for vb4 like your test site I made the ENGINE changes on.
You should not want to make any new servers you want to actually close your gallery upgrade your forum on your production site and leave your gallery off. You can then go through and upgrade your gallery and deal with any issues as they happen.
Like I said from a support perspective there is little I can do until you actually have an issue. Your using a non supportable version of software which should not be running on a production site and we need to handle issues as they come.
I will assist when you actually have an issue again when you upgrade your production site. Like I said all I did was walk through and fix any error I came across which of course was caused by pre-release software not even written by us directly and trying to upgrade that software on new server configs. You are going to have issues as that software and database configs are not meant to run on your new server setups so there is alot of on hands fixing and no way to write up tutorials as it is all on the fly.
Remember most replies to you are pretty quick that I see usually within a couple hours but it can be up to 24 hours depending on the issue time of day or weekend etc
feel free to email us any info and we can discuss via email but if your so worried about downtime me fixing anything that comes up is the fastest response time. I would not be sitting at my computer just waiting for emails over and over from across the seas. I think the way you want to do it would maximize downtime. Your hoping someone is just going to be around every second you email or post a message and that just is not the case.
Yeah I already beleive I stated those two tables where your issue on the test one I fixed for you.
However what issues you encounter trying to upgrade that old old software is all going to be dependent also on the different php and mysql versions setup on different servers I would assume so on one setup you may see no problem and on another you might.
