You'll find the second BETA release of our vBGallery for vBulletin 4.03 in the member's download area.
Please note that changes from 4.02 make this release incompatible with 4.02 and requires 4.03 and above.
Please bear in mind this is our second release of a BETA and therefore is it not unreasonable to think you might encounter issues. A couple notes:
How to upgrade:
Overwrite ALL files. (also gallery/images)
Run the installer admincp/vbgallery_install.php
Select upgrade. Run...
A couple of hundred bugs have been fixed in beta 2, thanks to everybody that reported!
But there still are known bugs that have not been fixed:
- Installer: for the moment when you upgrade from beta 1 it will overwrite
some of your settings. (amount of images in addons, behaviour, some
permissions etc...) this had to be done for upgrade from 2.5. Next version
of the installer will leave your settings alone if you upgrade from another
version of 3.0 beta... and only overwrite them if you upgrade from 2.5 (So
check your settings after the upgrade!!!)
- Style sheets.. there are still 1 or 2 colors that are not 100% identical
to vb 4.03 (this comes from the fact that vbulletin changed some stylevar
names between versions 4.02 and 4.03)
- Imagebit: is still the same than beta 1... it will be adapted in beta 3
- We still have an thumbnail size problem that occurs only on very seldom
If you define different sizes for thumbnails in your general settings AND in
one of your categories.
This can break the layout.. for pages that show thumbnails of mixed
categories. (if the sizes are really different like 100 in general settings
and 300 in category)
this will be fixed once the imagebit is changed. For the moment do NOT
define different sizes for thumbnails in categories.
- flash upload is still not active.
Now the good news:
Most of the posted bugs have been fixed.
Much higher compatibility with other hacks.
A couple of stylevars added to place the headerblock on the right side of
Watermarking of animated gifs with imagemagick
fixed "more smilies" to work in editor
Improved metatags.. (gold will have a common word keyword filter so you can
filter out common words like 'this', 'which', 'yours', 'mine' etc..)
fixed installer to be more compatible for upgrade from very old versions..
fixed 2 security bugs
higher compatibility with foreign languages
fixed profile plugin... now if gallery is turned off, admin still sees the
profile block with gallery off warning..
fixed the userinfo merge... if gallery was turned off.. and user registered
while gallery was off, you had to run a maintenance in beta1. this has been
Installation and upgrades work the same as they always have. Upload the files in the build to their respective areas and Import Product for the XML file found in the root directory of the ZIP file.
If you are upgrading a previous version, be sure to backup your files and then replace your files with those in the build. When you upload the product, be sure to select to Allow Overwrite.
Please report any issues (and suggestion or "fixes") in this forum; do not submit a trouble ticket as the BETA will only be supported here in this forum.

I'd like to thank Luc for his efforts over the past few months; without his work this would have been a MUCH more painful process and I am grateful for his help.
