VERSION UPDATE: 4.00
Classifieds 4.0 is a major update with features users have requested.
. vB4 support
. Usergroup Payment Permissions per Category.
. True Reserve Setting -- If the price in an auction does not reach reserve setting auction will be relisted and not sold for a lesser price.
. Cron Expire Task -- Ability to run the expire cron in the footer of the site versus setting up a cron task on the server.
. SEO URLs (requires .htaccess file)
. Single URLs for images
. 301 redirects to SEO pages for spider and normal URLs
. SEO URLs enabled in Admin -> Edit Settings -> Global Options (choices are none, spider, seo)
forums/vb3.php (you only need this file if you are using the vb registration system)
templates/vb4enhanced/* (new directory)
cron.php (new file)
HTACCESS (new file) -- You must rename this to .htaccess and upload to the classifieds directory. If your on a windows server and want to use SEO then you need to have an ISAPI Rewrite Manager installed and place the contents of the htaccess file in your ISAPI Rewrite Manager panel.
There is an upgrade script to run to add any new fields needed even if you where running the beta.
I am running vB 4.0.1 and still have the old classified 3.2.1 on my server (turned off). I never installed any of the betas. Can I do the 4.0.0 gold install to the 3.2.1 to retain old records or is it best just to do a fresh install of classifieds?
In the admin options etc, i saw vb4 while installing, but all other options refer to vb3 ? is that how it is supposed to be?
the integration options all refer to vb3 in the admincp... it appears to be working fine with vb4, so looks like a typo (except the text does not show in drop downs).

The first post should answer your questions. You need to upload all files except the config files and run the upgrade script.
sendnotice still works fine thats the server cron task. There is a separate file that is a silent file that is used as the footer cron.
I saw this.
This install script will upgrade your 3.2 release to 4.0. Only run this upgrade if you have the 3.2 version of the database in place (either by previous upgrades or if upgrading in order to the latest).
And when I run the upgrade, I get this.
Preparing to update database...
Error performing MySQL command: ALTER TABLE cp_categories ADD ugnopay VARCHAR(255) NULL AFTER ugnopost
Error: Duplicate column name 'ugnopay'
With regard to this new version, is VB4 required or it just supports VB4 now too? (I'm still on 3.8.4 and plan to be for some time)
Second, have any field names changed in the database? I'm assuming you may have added some fields or tables, but have you changed or dropped any? I ask because we have a very extensive integration with ecarlist, ebizautos and other XML feeds that deliver vehicles to our classifieds and are populated into the database, if field names change or go away that presents a problem for us and I don't want to break anything without knowing what needs to be fixed.
I'm running 3.2 currently and never installed any betas for the new product.
