You really cant just change that to a phone number sorry. I would say change the language string but the database field is a float field for currency 0.00 so you would also need to say alter the mysql field in the products table also.
Hey chuck, currently running 3.0 and was wondering if there was a way to add the shipping amount option directly to a template since that is the one thing I would like to have from 3.1 Thanks for the reply
Hi Chuck, most of time on my site ad users have several shipping options so they leave the shipping field empty when they publish their ad, and include the shipping info in the description.
Problem is the ad ends up with "none" for shipping when that is not correct.
What I want to do is change the "none" in the finished ad to "see below" or "see description" or something.
how do I change this?
You really cant the shipping amount is a numeric amount stored in the database. I would more so think you might want to require shipping amount on upload like so in the uploadproduct template. You add say this in bold in that template
Thats just a clause to say none if no shipping is entered. I merely stated the field itself is numeric meaning you can not enter non numeric data in it. Like I said the easiest thing is to make the field required on upload which is what i posted does.
And therein lies the problem, a compulsory shipping amount does not work either, because shipping can be complex; a couple of local price options, couple of overseas options, etc.
Here’s an example:
Advertiser has not entered shipping, because he knows the item could sell to a buyer in Canada and shipping could be $10, a buyer in the U.S and be $15 or a buyer in the UK and be $20. So he doesn't enter anything in the shipping field but puts shipping details in his description: “Shipping is at cost to destination.” (of course he could have easily detailed each option as well). But now look at the advert the shipping in the shipping field is shown as “None” but that is contradictory with the description. What’s needed, for ads with more than one shipping price, is for the shipping field to show “see description”
(I perhaps should also have said that I am removing the 'buy it now' option form the templates as well because of the shipping complexity)
Anyway, if there is no way to change that "None" to "See Description" then the next best thing is to remove the shipping field/options from the templates altogether, so if you could tell me what I need to remove that would be just as good.

Mike you have the option to modify anything you wish. I am only responding here in a support manner. You can modify the templates and add some info to see above for shipping amount if you wish instead of displaying shipping.
