Also I run my forum on a shared Lycos server, it has a number of limitations. I cannot get the vBulletin attachment system to work in safe mode, uploading images to a separate folder.
Uploading to a folder isn't a problem in Coppermine, btw. So the above must be a vBulletin issue.
I am sorry if I cannot be more technical, I can get these packages to work in most cases following the documentation, and in some cases solve the basic issues which pop up, with or without direct help (often by browsing the standard search engines...).
The main reason I got vBullitin was because of its solid reputation, and great functionality.
I am now on the brink of getting vBGallery as a fitting gallery tool.
However before committing to a licence, basic no extras, I must know if it will work - if it will fully integrate and function within the limits of my hosting package.
Main buying reasons:
1. full integration
2. storing images separate from forum - on a folder
Happy New Year, Ruy. You will find working with vBGallery very similiar to working with vBulletin - although you have the pricing mixed up, PhotoPost PRO is $129, vBGallery is $59 ( see here ).
Images are stored in their own file system seperate from the forum and integration with vBulletin is seemless as vBGallery was designed as a plug-in directly into vBulletin where Coppermine is a standalone application that has a "bridge" to vB.
Please do not PM me for support or sales questions. Thank you for your understanding.
Thanks for answering all of my questions, I've just send in my PayPal payment for one licence of vBGallery. I'm sure it was the right decision. Looking forward to installing vBGallery on my (test)forum (first).
