PhotoPost Running on More than 1 Server

During events, we can hit up to 2 million hits a day and I was wondering if I could have several servers to share the resources with the PhotoPost software during that time. Maybe all the sql happenings on one server while the user end is another.

And then would it be possible to move back to 1 server when the traffic has slowed down?

There are several users with larger sites who use multibox setups. The most useful is mysql dedicated on one box and another that house the applications.
