Separate server for Gallery

I am using multiple web servers behind a load balancer, all hooked to a dedicated database server. I would like to install the gallery and the links in a separate new server. This new server does have a link to the database, but it does not have the forums files and does not host the forums. In Photopost I can specify the db ip address if it is not localhost. Can this be done with your gallery setup?

Re: Separate server for Gallery

Gallery uses the forum files/functions, so it would need access to the PHP files. It's integrated into vBulletin, rather than being an external application that just reads the vBulletin database, like PhotoPost.

You may be able to get away with just copying a few of the key files it needs, so that it will run on your separate server. Brian will have to speak to that...

yes, I dont mind copying a few of the files to that server, but Id like that server strictly dedicated to gallery/links.

Re: Separate server for Gallery

I'm not really sure how hard that would be to acomplish. If you wouldn't mind allowing me to have access to the server to do some tests and would like to submit a support ticket then I'll be glad to have a look and see what would be required to get that set up.

Would you mind telling me what exactly would you be testing to see if it works?

Re: Separate server for Gallery

Basically just thowing a few of the gallery files up on the server to see if I can get a connection to the other server, and possibly a vB file or two to see if ConqSoft's idea is the better way to go. There shouldn't be any reason I would need to touch any current files on the server.
