Question Image Size

I see in the product information that there's an option to set the size of the image file. Does Gallery adjust the size so that the smaller file is what is uploaded, or is it just resizing for display purposes? I don't want to set up a gallery and have people start uploading 8 megapixel images from their DSLR cameras. I've got a product I use for galleries on a non VB site that lets me set the image display as 640x480. That greatly reduces the size of the jpeg file. It then creates the gallery and thumbnails using the smaller file, which is what gets uploaded.

Re: Image Size

Yes, you can choose the resolution for the image to be resized to, and you can also tell it not to save the original (huge) image after the resizing is complete.

Re: Image Size

Great! That's what I needed to know. I've thought of another question, though, not related to this subject. Is there any restriction in using VBA Gallery and charging my forum members for the privilege of being able to post photos? I'm thinking of creating a "premium" member status that would be the only way to post photos. I don't want to turn into an online photo gallery for lots of people. I don't have the disk space or bandwidth for too much of that. I figure if I charge a few bucks, the would elimate the less than serious members from posting everything they'd like.

Re: Image Size

Thanks! I think I'll be purchasing Gallery and getting it integrated with my VB forum and VBA CMPS.
