4.8.5 vB3 Enhanced Integration Instructions

The 4.8.5 release of PhotoPost includes some advanced integration options for users of vB3. These include the ablitity to use vB's markup code for posts and signatures, vB3's text input boxes (both enhanced and WYSIWYG), supported/integrated index and featured photos displays for your vB3 index and collapse/expand controls for many PhotoPost elements.

Installing and using the new features is as easy as 1-2-3.

1) Upgrade to PhotoPost 4.8.5 using the normal upgrade process (upload new files, run upgrade482.php). If you are doing a new install, simply follow the normal PhotoPost installation procedures (make sure to follow the vB3 FAQ in the install area as you still need your license # and cookie settings properly set).

2) There is a new header-inc.php file. Previously you edited this file to uncomment the section for vB3 - this is no longer the case. header-inc.php no longer needs to be edited directly; but there is a new file called config-int.php (for config-integration)which you will need to edit.

config-int.php contains configuration variables used by PhotoPost and other integrations to identify the locations of vB3 forums and PhotoPost. Open the file and edit the paths/options as documented in the file.

After setting the basic info, from this file you can elect which features you want to enable:

// Set to 'on' to enable specific integrations
define(VB3_INTEGRATION, 'off');
define(VB3_ENHANCEDINT, 'off');
define(VB3_COMMWYSIWYG, 'off');

Using the included instructions, you can enable the different options and change them at any time.

Upload the modified config-int.php file once you have made your changes.

3) If you have elected to use the Enhanced Mode, then you will want to copy the contents of the templates/vb3enhanced directory into your templates directory. These vb3enhanced templates contain the necessary vB code to enable the various enhanced screens.

Once you have followed these three steps, your site will be integrated using the new Enhanced features.

If you plan to integrate the inc_photopost.php and inc_feature.php scripts into your vB3 Main Index (like we do on PhotoPostDev), then you will need to consult the vB3 Index Integration thread for instructions on modifying vB3 to use these features.
Please do not PM me for support or sales questions. Thank you for your understanding.
