FAQ--How to Create Additional Template Set's in Reviewpost
Okay this has been asked a few times so I think I will take a few minutes to write down the specifics
1.. You need to take an existing template set and modify these files to look the way you want. If all your doing is using the same design as an existing set just save the new files and make the language changes. The files needed are what is below and save them as noted below. The X would be the number of the next template number
3. Go to your admin category editor and make a new category to use the new template system. Make sure to enter the number for the template set in the category settings under template. So if you created say templates with a 3.tmpl ending enter a 3 as the template number for that category.
I know from experience it's quite difficult to compose a template from scratch - it's also not easy to modify a template if you want to compose a template that makes use of different 'features' from different ad types.
A step by step guide would be very useful... one that tells you how to include each element (photos, asking price field, etc, etc) that's currently available across the templates / ad types.
I agree criscokid, it's just not that obvious and it needs a lot better explanation. I've been working on it for a while now and didn't realise at first that I had to change the templates in the vb3enhanced folder because I'm using vBulletin. Also:
How do I change 'Manufacturer' to 'Publisher', without changing the core english.php language file? (I'd like to use Manufacturer for other products)
Can I add more horizontal radio buttons from poor > good that will produce a number and graphic (slider) result like the others?
Maybe the cat building and templates are two seperate issues, but it looks as though it all amounts to the same end result.
In fact, maybe I'm missing something, but my dowload doesn't appear to have a manual at all...is that normal?

You make it sound so easy Chuck, I suppose it is if you know what your doing, I need some custom templates making for just a couple of categories and i know absolutley nothing about PHP, I am looking at the code now and it may as well be dutch. What do you suggest?
Thanks chuck but easy it is not, and I am the webmaster
Why are there not some simple switches so we can build our own templates. I have got to go away and learn how to write code just to change a simple template to reflect the product category. I thought the idea of buying bespoke programs like this was to avoid programming, If I knew programming I wouldn't need your product Its allright for you to say "You need to take an existing template set and modify these files to look the way you want" But I need to know how to do this.
Can you point me to somewhere where there is a simple explanation on how to do this, for that I would be most grateful, without it your product is useless to me.

Of course that really does not have to be said really one just needs to read the clear cut instructions which are accurately and precisely laid out and know they have to have some sort of knowledge to follow this. I think you should however read below
This thread is probally not something you want to do unless your making complete new template sets. You just trying to modify ones already in place is what it sounds like to me.
You can change language strings in the admin as well as edit templates in the admin. We of course do not support changes to the product so as with most companies you are free to discuss code changes in the modification forums which are outside product support. You might want to read this. We do not assist with code changes. Sorry but my main core job here is to provide support to the products as they are written which means I do not get involved in modification discussions
