option to allow users to associate albums to categories: how?

option to allow users to associate albums to categories (permissions set by usergroup)

Can someone please explain me how this is done?
In my edit usergroups admin page, I've set "assign albums to cats" to "yes" on the desired usergroups. Checked the edit categories page but nothing related to it there. Tried to edit my existing albuns and create new ones and nothing there either...

Thanks!
Ricardo

I have it working on our site.
- Edit Usergroups and change Assign Albums to Cats to yes for each group you want to have the capability.
- As an Admin, you can go to Manage Album, find user and album, edit album, the bottom field is Assign as a subcatagory. That will do it.
- As a User, they can go to Album Admin, edit album, and change the catagory in the bottom field "Assign to a subcatagory"

Once assigned, you will find the album near the bottom of the page. It took me a bit to see it because I expected it at the top.

I don't have that bottom field =(
My admin settings are fine, templates are complete but no visible means of doing it.

Did you install 4.8c or did you upgrade from 4.7x?

We upgraded from an earlier version. I think it was 4.7.

I'm using version 4.8.2 and when I click Edit next to my album, all i get is "Album Name, Album Description, Default Sort Order, Thumbnail for Album, Is Album Private?". No assign to category. I have that option turned on in admin.

As an Admin I am not getting this option either.

When you say you have it turned on - are you talking about the Usergroup permissions?

Yes, for the column that says "Assign albums to cats", I have it set to "Yes" for all member groups.

Actually I upgraded to 4.8.2 yesterday and I haven't uploaded the templates. I'll do that and give it a try. Thank you.

EDIT: I just upgraded all the templates from 4.8.1 to 4.8.2 and still no luck. I'm not getting any category options for albums.

BTW, the galleries are at http://www.tmpforums.com/gallery (if that helps)

When you EDIT an album, you'd see a drop down allowing you to assign that album to a category.

Like some other folks, I hope Flat is not one of them, I never had this option in my site, no matter how many times I run the upgradexxx.php file, replaced templates, etc, until recently when upgrading from 4.8c to 4.8.5b1 and integrating with vB and not IPB. Maybe it's a coincidence, maybe not...

If there is a "bug" with the integrations, then it would be best to post in the Errors area so it can be addressed as such. If we're just discussing how to use it, this is fine.

I wasn't aware this might be an issue with different forums, but if that is the case, I can take a closer look.

It just occurred to me after seeing Flat's signature.
Anyway, I've posted about this months ago and it never got an answer and since it wasn't anything particularly important to me, I never pursued a solution.

Thank you for your help.
