Perhaps:

create a login form (username/password ) and attach it to under the navbar.
- Home · Search · Member List · · Register · Login

This would allow quick login from any page vs. hit the "login link". Many internet users look for simple username/password login. It may save you a few e-mails of how to log-in.

I changed it for a week as a joke from a "easy login block" to "click link login" and I got about 1500 e-mails .
