Reviews/Comments

Unless I am missing something, there is no way to see someone's submitted review before it is approved, except in the Admin->General->Moderate Comments section.

Also, I can't find any way at all to edit a submitted review before it is approved.

This is extremely limiting, so for a future version, I suggest some type of inline or enhanced method of allowing those with moderator ability to preview and edit reviews before they approve them to the public.

Also, reviews in the queue are counted as reviews even before they are approved. So, if a review is awaiting a moderator for approval, guests still see that there is a "Review" for a product but they won't be able to see it.

There is only an approve or remove link in the moderate reviews area no edit

nice ideas though for a future version.

Thanks-

The reviewpost admin area is intimidating to me as admin lol, so it's very intimidating to moderators. Something that could be used inline in the reviews section or outside the reviewpost admin cp would be ideal for a future version. Thanks!

Also, my moderators have noted that there is no way to see which product is being reviewed in the -> moderate comments section of the admin cp. So, unless they mention it in the review, the moderator is forced to approve it as is, then find it again amongst all the reviews that exist, then edit it if it needs corrections or something. So, for the next version, it would be very nice to at least include the product name and category as a header to each review submitted when viewed in the Admin cp moderation area.

The approve comments/reviews sections has very closely spaced links to approve or delete a submitted review. Would be nicer to space them farther or make them buttons so that it is not so easy to accidentally delete a review. Or, like vBulletin does with moderators, make it so only those with admin access can permanently delete a review.

Another suggestion for future versions is a social network sharing bar or buttons, especially Facebook, Pinterest, Google+ and Twitter. Outside of search engines, social networks provide the most traffic for most websites and this feature is basically essential for software like this in my opinion.

The social stuff was added in the ReviewPost 5.2 series. I can look at the ability to expand the moderation que on comments and giving the ability to edit a review there.

I will look at this and see what can be done now since we have an open beta.

I think I can change this with relative ease. If I change things a little on moderate reviews in admin from just displaying a review to placing those contents into a textarea that will allow you to edit the review at the same time if necessary.

That would be awesome. This seems to be an impediment for my moderators to even want to deal with approving reviews. I was thinking I'd probably not upgrade again since everything is working well at the moment and I don't want to lose my various custom template edits another time, but I might for this feature;-)

Also, I'm not sure the best way to do this, but it would be nice if the moderators could be alerted somehow that reviews are awaiting approval. Most forget to check the reviewpost admin area at all. I don't know if it takes a big red notice, a PM/email or popup or what to get their attention, especially if they have been waiting for more than a few days.
