Search category names

I would like to suggest that the Search engine would search the category names.

Search does not search category names

Search the category names for what though?

I mean the search script returns results of ads that match the search parameter. What would matching a category name do. If you are searching for say the word blue to return ads with that search parameter what would you expect if a category name has blue in it.

Just because a category name has blue in it does not mean the ads within the category name contain that search parameter so really searching the category name has nothing to do with the results or even the search parameter.

I have categories named Apple tree eplatré description: (Malus domestica)

Product names are: 21
Carroll
Close
Gyllenkroks astrakan

Now I have to write Apple trees and malus Domestica as keywords for each product or they wont show up, but all 21 products under that category are apple trees and they should turn up.

On my site If I search for eplatré I get only 2 products because I did not use the word eplatré in the product description or the keyword list. but all 21 products are eplatré. I did not see the need to write same text for all products simply because the category name says it all.

On the search page I would like to see the category found as top result for best match as the possibilities of finding something in there are the most.

Also interesting to know if this does have effect in google sitelinks?

Thanks for the clarification but I think there is no basis for such a feature. It is contrary to how every search feature is suppose to work.

Whether your talking a forum thread or image upload the search parameters are all based off the title description or any extra fields and or image name of the specific post/image. You would actually have to input data for such a thing.

Anyone wanting to view your category called apples can do so from your categories list. The search script is designed to search the photos mysql database for any reference in the photos or comments for the search term.
