Moving one individual user review from an incorrect product

I asked about moving a single individual user review that was posted in the wrong category in the "How Do I" forum last summer and was told it wasn't possible to do. I would like to suggest adding this option in the next version of RP.

Example: I need to move one individual user review in a product. I DO NOT want to move all the reviews in the product. Think of it this way: a reader reads a review for a Chevy in my General Motors category then wrote a review on his Ford while still in the GM category. I now want to move that Ford review out of the GM category and into the Ford category where it belongs. I want to leave all the other GM reviews where they are.

Situations like this happen far too often in our experience to make editing the database entries a viable solution for it. And the only other option is to remove the review entirely (as in delete it).

Thanks.

when you change a category on a photo the comments category is also updated so I dont see an issue here.

Who is talking about a photo? I'm talking about a single individual user review of a Reviewpost product item. No changing of any photo involved. Simply someone submitting their individual product review in the wrong category. Mods have only two options: approve it into the wrong product or remove it. I would think it would be logical even to a first grader that you really should have a mechanism to correct the mistake (other than deleting or manually manipulating the database) when people place it in the wrong product.

PhotoPost Community > PhotoPost Support > ReviewPost Pro > Suggestions > This is the right forum for suggesting that, isn't it?

Maybe Michael can grasp what I am saying since you once again apparently do not. It really isn't rocket science. You are making it more complicated an issue than it really is.

photo product same thing

What I am saying is when I edit a product and change its category the reviews are also updated to reflect the new category so I do not see an issue as i have tested what I have said above and the reviews always follow the product

Okay, let me try it again.

I am NOT editing a product and changing it's category. I am changing one single individual user's review of that was submitted into that product. In my example in post one of this thread, all the GM reviews will stay exactly where they are in the same product called GM. The ONLY one that needs to be moved is the one from the person who submitted a Ford review into the GM product.

Not moving an entire product (I know that can be done), only moving a single review from within a product.

Perhaps you can review my original "How Do I" thread - Moving reviews? where you told me:

"You can not move reviews on products they are explicitly posted on a product."

So therefore comes my suggestion to make a way to be able to move a review that is explicitly posted on a product to which the review does not properly belong under.

Are you up to speed with what I'm trying to suggest now?
