Release Date field

I would love to see the following field added to Reviewpost: Release Date

With this field in place then introduce a new 'product block' entitled 'Forthcoming Product Releases' (or similar) that would appear on /reviews/index.html above the current 'Recent Products' block. Beacuse each product already has the 'Release Date' field filled in the RP software will know whether to show the product thumbnail in the 'Forthcoming Product Releases' block or the 'Recent Products' block.

This feature would kick ass!!
I'm sure there's a lot of people out there that would like to see this built in to RP.

I was giving this some more thought over the weekend. In theory it's very easy to implement:
1: Add two extra fields (1: release date 2: released category) to the rp_products table
2: Add two extra input field to the 'upload product' and edit product' templates.
3: Write a tiny PHP file that runs once a day to check if 'field 1' is equal to todays date then move it to the category detailed in 'field 2'.

As I said... simple in theory except I'v never written any PHP code so any advice would be most welcome.

If your looking for advise on how to write this you might do better posting in the mod forums. This forum is here for us to grab ideas customers want when we go into a beta phase for the next version of the software.
