Combine the review and ratings all in one when submitting a new review

An improvement that I feel strongly about in reviewpost would be the ability to add the review and the rating/comments for it at the same time when adding a new product.

The ability to add a product is good and the post a review is okay however I think they may work best together in one page submission process.

Right now it's a bit confusing if you accept user submitted items for reviews since the user has to add the product and then post the review of that product separate.

For example if I want to have a book ratings site and allow people to submit the books they are reading along with a review it should occur in a one step process. The ability to add the product and the review at the same time.

If you look at Mouthshut.com for example and the way they do the submissions they have all of that (pro's and cons, rating, etc..) all on the same page as the review being submitted.

Example url: http://www.mouthshut.com/write.php?cid=925001066

I haven't yet launched my reviews area on my site but most people who I have showed it to expressed this as their number one complaint. They just get lost and cannot figure it out that you must add your review after the product.

I hope this is considered for the next version.....or maybe a hacked up version for now

Thanks for listening
Mike

I'd agree actually, as it's somewhat confusing for a new user. The main reason for the issue is that RP is a development/fork of PhotoPost that allows people to post photos, and others to comment on them and rate them.

A reviews system will (as you said) natrually work better when a user is given the option to either upload a product and just that, or a review of the product and the product details at the same time.
