| ReviewPost - Future?
I have been watching for a while, and wondering when a BETA 5? will be out for ReviewPost?
The verison I am using works fine, but wondering when some of teh great ideas will be implemented?
Any ideas out there? RP is still the best (and only) real solution out there...
Thanks -

Reviewpost is not the only solution. I have found another that is actually better although you can't really buy the script any more. While it is frustrating about RP is that it has looked very much the same for a long time and you still cannot do a number of very basic things such as adding additional fields easily or multiple reviews, and I've had to hack this script quite a bit although I would say that the work done by these guys here is far worth the investment than most other crappy, garbage scripts.

I would not say RP5
More possibly like RP2.9 or 3.0
I think the majority of the work will be bringing in the VB3 enhancements and then a list of other needed updated although since PP5 is not final cant say exactly what is going to be updated until a beta begins.

Who wants to bog his server down with all the bells and whistles that really aren't bells and whistles? Who uses these things anyhow? There are several other options already in PP that we need in RP. It is the one product that suffers neglect in this place. Darn frustrating.

The largest majority of our customers are VB3 users. Of all the internal and external installs of all applications this is the largest block of customer base. You dont use the VB3 bells and whistles if you dont have it.
There will be new features added as to which new ones who knows. Thats not decided till a beta cycle opens.

Can we start a thread of the most requested new features? Once we get an entire list, can we start a poll to see which one interests the most persons? I know this won't guarentee anything, but might help Michael and the development team understand what is needed to keep RP moving forward...
Ideas?

There will be new features added as to which new ones who knows. Thats not decided till a beta cycle opens. | 4 VB 3.07 licences, 2 PP 4.86, ONE RP current license, believe me, I know what I'm talking about. RP will forever be the underdog in this stable until someone ups and gives it some consideration. I renewed my access to the download area recently. Its going to expire again with nothing but cosmetics.
Guys, speaking of important features, this is a product review script. There should be a simple YES switch to make the products buyable on Paypal or whatever payment system one has already indicated. I run movie reviews on my licence. I don't want a hack that may get broken and will be unsupported, no. Its a product review script. That's a natural path for it to take. I have a Censura license I'm not using, choosing to stick with my RP instead. You folks give it some consideration and let it go someplace. Hire more developers, if necessary and stop waiting on Michael to go from product to product. You make enough money now. You also need fresh minds and perspectives in that place, seriously. Thanks.

If you want a direct answer Reviewpost will always be the underdog as it is the lowest selling script we have and most likely will always remain so. However you are forgetting Reviewpost recieved alot of features added to it this past 8 month ago when 2.8 was released so I would not say it is stale. If anything it is on a development cycle like a normal company and not on the insane developement cycle of Photopost which is our top seller.
I also think you overestimate the company as we are a small company nowhere the size or stature you think.

I too feel that Reviewpost is left behind. I paid good money for the product, and membership renewal fees etc...I really feel like it is out thee just to generate more revenue for photopost developement. In my opinion the VB3 enhanced version of reviewpost should have been done prior to PP5 going gold. Don't get me wrong, PP is a great product, but support is really starting to lag. All you need to do is look at how long it takes to get a response to a question in the reviewpost forum. I sent several e-mails yesterday and today just trying to get access to the members area after paying the renewal. If i have to wait until after the weekend now before i can access , i will have 3 licenses up for sale and i will be going to VbGallery.

Most software companies only put out one possible two updates a year.
I own reviewpost and its a nice product so I feel ya. However last year we released 2 major updates to reviewpost as well as 2 minor bug and security releases. I do beleive 2.5 was released the beginning of 2004 and 2.8 which was a major one as well in July.
I hardly call that left behind.
Now as far as your members renewal please make sure you have emailed sales@photopost.com as they handle all sales related issues. Rest assured though we process licenses members renewals etc 24/7. We do not close up shop on the weekend. I do all the installs and upgrades and can tell ya for sure I get sent installs etc on the weekend |

I understand updates have been posted to reviewpost, and i enjoy the new features. I guess my dissapointment is that what is the sense of me installing reviewpost now as i would have to go through and change paths etc that i did not need to do with the other two programs. So i guess i will just have to wait it out.
And i have e-mailed sales and support @ photopost.com. No reply since the email regarding the confusion of what i was renewing.

Still no access. So i find it hard to believe you process 24/7. It shouldn't take over 24 hours to re-grant my access to the download area. Now I am getting frustrated. 3 e-mails to sales, 2 to support and no one can find the switch to flip. Took you less than a half hour though to debit my credit card..

support would just forward those to sales as support does not answer sales questions. They do not process orders. Only the processing center can do that
Now if you had some kind of confusion on your order that could be why it is taking longer than expected. I cant say since I can only answer from a generic point of view since I am support.
Just an FYI I sent a personal email to someone who process's the orders to see what is going on with your renewal

That might be because your posting in a Reviewpost Thread asking about your renewal as well as the future of Reviewpost
I am under the same assumption that you renewed Reviewpost. Quite easy a mistake. When buying a Renewal and you own many licenses its always suggested to use the comments box and specify which license its for.
My email to customer service that I sent stated you where inquiring about your reviewpost renewal since this is where your posting which is why they renewed reviewpost.
