| Compare products
A very important feature of my competitors' site is the ability to compare products based on a set range of features like for example size, resolution, contrast +++
This feature will have to first of all make the individual specs of the item's category local, not global as is today. In addition, the number of specs will have to be at least 15, but 20-25 may also be neccessary for some categories of products.
Last, a system of comparing products from the same, but also chosen additional categories, has to be implemented.
Currently, very few are using this system, and products are added with a lot of different types of layouts and specs. I would like to allow the user to add their own ingress, but the specs should be the same for every product in a certain category.

...in addition, the specs should also have different headings... For example Technical specs
Size:
Contrast:
etc.: Dimensions
Width:
Height:
Depth: Availability
URL to producer:
Release date:
etc.:

Depending on your situation and timeframes, you may want to consider having someone customize the application to suit your needs. We have a develop Chuck (omegatron) who is available for hire to do just such projects and who has done some extensive ReviewPost customization for clients looking for specific features to suit their sites.

I'm going to hack the code Michael. This shouldn't be too difficult to accomplish. Unfortunately, this item is completely essential to any product reviews script, at least from what I have seen.

Hello again
We have made major improvements on the current platform, have a look at AVforum.com/avnews (or AVforum.no/AVnytt, were it is more actively used).
However, all our improvements are of such major level on several parts of the code that sharing these items is not possible (and since we have spent thousands of dollars developing them, giving them away is not an option anyhow). We have among other connected the service to CNET for gathering specs, developed a new search-engine, a new comparison tool, price-hunt feature +++.

Although, saying that, if they were customizable fields as has been suggested by a few of us, so that we could use them for what ever purpose we needed, then yes I completely agree, they would be essential.
On a side note, lygren, I have to say, I do really like what you've done with your version of Reviewpost, very imressive.

Can I ask how you did the compare products? Are you willing to share your mod with the rest of us?
