Permissions problem

OK. Suddenly I get this error when uploading as admin:
Unable to move file [/tmp/phpClmy7J] -> [/home/picturez/public_html/gallery/uploads/1/canona1.jpg]
This is the case if I upload to any category.
Now I checked the CHMOD for data directory (777) and editphoto.php (644)... I looked into this a bit more to find that this is only affectting administrators.
I've checked permissions in both VB3 and PP (under user groups) and alls fine.
I have tried several files but to no avail.
I've also noticed that as administrator I cannot use the "move/delete" button if I try to move a picture. Just to comfirm with you that I'm doing this by bringing up the picture and choosing photo options > admin options > Move delete
Any ideas?

1. that error is all because of only a few possible things.

a. permissions are not 777 on that directory
b. the actual path is not correct maybe the server path has been updated
c. safe mode was turned on in PHP

THATS WHAT I WOULD CHECK

2. well what do you mean by this you cant use it. please post a full account of what you mean so we can not respond.

Love this tech session

As for number 1: regular members can post images without errors... I'll tripple check permissions

2: if I see a picture that I need to delete and then go to the photo options>admin options>move/delet nothing at all happens.... no error nothing at all

1. well then your actual numeral 1 directory would not be set to 777 I would suspect

2. Look again as I would suspect you are overlooking the option if you click the move delete link then under photo options a category select box and a delete checkbox appear under there.

Ok Chuck... you're right about the move/delete.... I apologies for not seeing that below the picture. I guess I expected a pop up.

The upload problem seems to be related only to my account (after further investigation)... strange as it is as I have the same rights as all other admins...
So I'm assuming that my account is corrupt somehow...
I'll recreate my account and hopefully it will be ok.

Thanks for your help again.

what I am saying about your account is the numeric 1 directory under uploads would appear NOT to be properly set to 777 permissions just set your permissions correctly and you will be okay. You say they are set but thats not the case from the information your posting.
