Right, but they don't show up in the reviewpost editor, which is why it is a problem.

For example, another member just submitted a review (not a product upload) and suggested that a "Preview" feature would be a big help. They apparently copied their review that they had submitted to another website (maybe amazon or somewhere I don't know), and when they pasted it, some of the photos and layout that looked good in the editor did not work on the page.

All I'm saying is that the editor clearly doesn't always show what you see after you submit. If it did, then all these double returns and other layout issues could easily be corrected, regardless of where you copied or pasted from, if at all.

All those people using my site to submit product uploads and reviews at the moment are vBulletin users. Perhaps the fundamental issue is that they are all familiar with the vBulletin editor and it's preview mode and such, and many know you can copy/paste into it and what is shown is pretty much what you see when you hit submit.

The ReviewPost editor doesn't work the same way, so it causes some frustration among users who are familiar with vBulletin or prefer to copy/paste from other websites or editors that are more familiar to them.

Of course, as the website admin, I want to make the experience as easy as possible for them to encourage them to submit content. Thus my frustration with the quirks in the editor, that seem to have been the main source of the issues I've had.

We're working around it as best we can, but hopefully that makes sense if you are looking for suggestions for future versions, especially if vB4 integration is a popular feature for others who use review post.

Don't mean to beat this dead horse any more, but perhaps that is why we have a different perspective on the issue since maybe you are used to entering content directly in one of the reviewpost editors whereas my community members may use different methods? Just a hunch.

Update- this appears to be an issue that varies by device/browser/OS. Best I can tell, even using essentially the same procedure, some are finding their content pastes fine and keeps format, others find the line breaks stripped and then have to add them again in the RP editor.

All of the product uploads are now being created in vBulletin 4.2 posts for consistency, and also to have backups and to log who creates them, so the source is the same now. Of course, for those additional people submitting reviews, I cannot standardize whether they use the RP editor to create content or copy/paste from reviews they have submitted on other websites or created on their computer or wherever

Anyway, it's much better now since proper formatting can be added, regardless of what happens if they copy/paste formatted text. Prior to the fix, extra spaces could not be removed so it's definitely an improvement. I think the only consistent observation from one person to the next is that the RP editor does not show what will be displayed on the page once the review is saved.

Thanks again for the solution! The website is finally looking nearly done and hopefully I can open it to visitors next month. It only took over a year lol.
