Anyone vBulletin users upgraded to 4.1.11?

I'm reluctant to be the guinea pig, since there seem to be a lot of minor changes. Anyone using reviewpost upgraded to 4.1.11? Otherwise, I guess I need to install the 4.1.10 patch before I go live.

I use all our products on my site it is fine

carsafety April 9th, 2012 08:11 AM

Yours is reeftalk.com right? It says it's 4.1.10 which is what I am running. Do you have another site on 4.1.11? I ask because the patch notes indicate a large number of improvements including template changes.

vbulletin templates have nothing to do with PhotoPost Pro. We use our own templates.

I have no idea who runs what forum or version that is not a requirement we have you simply have to tell us where you are running the software.

So I guess that's a "Yes, it's compatible" ;-) I'll give it a shot. Incidentally, I did mean ReviewPost, as this is the Reviewpost forum, specifically the vBulletin integration that would most likely be affected by a vBulletin update.

Chuck S April 9th, 2012 10:42 AM

Yes I doubt seriously if anything is going to cause issues in a .01 release difference your reviewpost should be just like what is on my site.

carsafety April 9th, 2012 10:49 AM

That's what I figured but it's running well at the moment and I didn't want to mess things up if there were any known issues or if someone had found a problem. There did seem to be a lot of stuff in the patch notes for a .01 incremental release. I'll report back later today with results for anyone else considering the update.

Chuck S April 9th, 2012 11:11 AM

Not a problem.

Still checking but a couple things so far-

The FORUMHOME template must be merged into the new template for 4.1.11. So far, it seems to be working, though, but I did get the control panel warning about it.

Clicking "My Profile" on the very top menu (next to Settings and Log Out) produces the following error:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare rpurlsafe() (previously declared in /home/carmoms/public_html/global.php(29) : eval()'d code:25) in /home/carmoms/public_html/member.php(515) : eval()'d code on line 20

I'm not sure if this is related to ReviewPost plugins or not, but the function is the same one I had an issue with previously ( http://www.photopost.com/forum/revie...ml#post1296403 ) so perhaps they are related somehow?

Nothing your posting about under the product support seems to be any issue with the supported reviewpost product. You seem to be referencing issues with a mod.

Which is why I mentioned the vBulletin integration earlier.

Is there some issue I should have known about regarding the vBulletin integration plugins? Are they not compatible with 4.1.11?

Chuck S April 9th, 2012 08:11 PM

I guess you are misunderstanding things a little then.

There are no problems to my knowledge with our supported ReviewPost product and you are basically confirming this.

Any response given to you asking about compatibility would of course be answered from a perspective on the product our company releases and support. Any answers given would not be about third party mods that are not supported by our company.

You can discuss any issues you have with a mod in any mod thread.

No misunderstanding. As you may recall, I've had a number of issues in the past, relating to installation, server moves and the plugin you created for vBulletin integration. This is why I came to ask before this upgrade, because the problems I've had in the past have been way beyond my capability to resolve and without the integration (like you have at your website Reeftalk.com), the ReviewPost program is of little value to me.

So, I would have avoided the vB upgrade if there was any risk of messing up my installation that had finally been working well for some time. I'll post in the thread for your plugin, hopefully there is a fix to get it working again.

Chuck S April 10th, 2012 08:45 AM

No sorry we have over 50000 customers so no idea who you are and what issues you may or may not have had since I deal with people every single day. ;)

At any rate what I have said stands. We do not support mods it does not matter who created them. In fact any mods created by me is released as is if we have indeed talked before I can probally search threads and see that I have probally told all this to you before.

carsafety April 10th, 2012 09:29 AM

Fair enough. I will try to be more clear in regard to the vBulletin integration plugins next time and also give more time for others to upgrade first. Troubleshooting these types of issues is well beyond my capability.

Chuck S April 10th, 2012 12:38 PM

Not an issue at all my friend. Sometimes clarification helps resolve any issue which is the nature of support.

My job here for the PhotoPost Company is to provide product support. I also develop and maintain several of the supported products we sell. If you ask a question in our support forums you will always get a response that is based off our default applications as they are released from the members area.

You can not obtain support via the PhotoPost company on code mods

http://www.photopost.com/forum/revie...uncements.html

I assist as I choose to if I have time with mod questions but clarification is always best when I get the feeling that company support is being asked on code mods.
